could it be possible that another appliance is interfering with the frequency ? For me I had a food dehydrator on in the garage and the remote would not work unless I was 2 feet from the door turned off the dehydrator and worked as normal

thank you for all the info...... one more thing I was tossing around is I may take my electric metal shears and cut a couple ventilation holes in the metal siding before adding the furring strips and house wrap ?

you mention the siding creates a 2nd vapor barrier that traps moisture.... does the moisture appear on the interior walls or exterior
