Re: Hi again everyone
Also, what is the best way of going about hiring a good residential electrician? Would you consider Craigslist?

A question about a clogged kitchen sink drain line
Guy at ace hardware store told me today liquid fire will not harm a section of thick wall 2" PVC piping that is clogged. I tried to unclog with a manual plumbing snake but there is a section of this pipe that I just can't break thru so I poured a half bottle of the liquid fire in this section o...

Hi again everyone
I have not posted in a while but have another problem and thought perhaps someone here could give me some advice. I got some great advice here a few months ago about my hot water heater and it was much appreciated. Ok, here is my current problem. I am not much of a DIYer btw and I am going to have t...

Re: Handyman for mobile home repair jobs
Thanks Norm. I've heard you have to pay to be a member of Angie's list, I think. I did look thru Craigslist and found a few ppl. One guy told me he could come by and give me a possible estimate but I am not quite ready to do it yet. It may not be until 2013 before I do this because I am on a very ti...

Re: Handyman for mobile home repair jobs
@ Norm Frechette, I would but I am not real good at doing stuff like this. I would like to completely remove the old vinyl skirting I have now and replace with some of the quik brick panel skirting shown below to give my mobile home a more modern look. I wonder if Craigslist would be a good place to...

It's been three months since your original post Country, have you not replaced that tank yet ? Hi Greg. I am sorry for not coming back and updating on the water heater problem I asked about several months ago. You guys were tremendously helpful and I thank you all for your replies. I ended up repla...

Handyman for mobile home repair jobs
I am thinking about replacing the skirting around my mobile home. It has many cracks and holes from getting too close with weed trimmers and weather cracking. How do you go about finding someone like this to do a job like this? Any idea how much a job like this would cost me (labor only). Thanks in ...

Re: Question about mobile home skirting?
Ok, thanks a lot Greg. Is the skirting sold by the foot? Here is what I am thinking about. This looks like brick. What do you think? Here is the link.

Question about mobile home skirting?
My doublewide mobile home is 15 years old. I wish to replace the plain white skirting with something fancier, but I do not wish to do the job myself. Who could I get (pay) to do this type of job and how much should I expect to pay for the labor. Mobile home is 68' long by 27' wide. Thanks in advance...

Followup and questions: jpingram5>>>Thanks for responding. Sorry I have not been able to check back sooner. You guys are terrific and I am glad I found this msg board. It does sound like they changed out the Lower Heating Element. Usually with 40+ Gallon there are 2 elements, Upper & Lower. Lowe...

Re: No hot water this morning
jpingram5 and Greg >>>>>Thank you both for your replies. My brother and some guy he works with came by the house last weekend and fixed it. Here is what my mother said. I was not home when they came by. 1. They had to drain the tank. 2. She said there was something at the bottom that heats the water...

Re: No hot water this morning
Thanks a lot JD for your reply. Much appreciated friend. I know the unit is an electric water heater. I am not sure what you mean by atmospheric or direct vent unit. If you could explain the difference or how to tell, then perhaps I could tell you. I am going now to look at the link you gave me. Tha...

No hot water this morning
I think my hot water heater has gone on the blink. There is a switch in one of the bedroom closets that says this switch operates the hot water heater but I don't really see an access panel. The hot water heater should be located in this closet, am I correct. I mean it should not be in some remote l...
