Has anyone cut out a slot in the cabinets and added a microwave over the stove?
Pictures?
We'd like to pull the range hood and add a microwave to free up counter space.

If we were to tile the back splash, would you recommend before or after the microwave install?

Re: Electrical Boxes at Marriage Wall?
Had an electrician come out. He did all the same stuff I did and was scratching his head. I mentioned the box under home and he didn't think that was it but we decided to pull the skirting and check. It looked like a dryer cord and it turned out to be how they were feeding the second side on the dou...

Re: Electrical Boxes at Marriage Wall?
I think I have to run new romex. I am not sure where the old romex runs from the panel. Did they run romex in the space above the ceiling? Or is it all stapled to the studs in the walls? My issue: I have a single pole circuit out. Breaker isn't tripped. Pulled breaker and reseated it a couple of tim...

Re: Electrical Boxes at Marriage Wall?
I will if I need up pulling the siding on that end to find the problem. I had to belly crawl all the way there and it wasn't fun.Greg wrote:It may be the way the 2 halves are connected, with out seeing it I really am only guessing. Can you post a picture?

Electrical Boxes at Marriage Wall?
I am chasing down an electrical issue and while under the double wide mobile home noticed two large junction boxes at the marriage wall. One on one half and the other on the other half. The one on the side where the breakers are was terminated in a large gauge power cord that plugged into the box on...

Thanks, picked some up.
If I cut it, do I have to seal the cuts or is it 100% PVC?

Shower Window Trim Ideas
The window opening in the shower is trimmed in wood as is the sill and stiles. Sill and stiles are wood paneling that has been painted over. The window frame itself is vinyl. The shower/tub is a one piece plastic or fiberglass enclosure. I won't be pulling it. I have to pull the wood, what should I ...

Toilets
Are toilets in mobile homes different from stick homes? I am assuming no but thought I'd ask. Our toilet rocks on the closet flange. I believe the flange may be too high but it's also possible that a different toilet was installed before we bought the mh. Will a different toilet solve this (want to ...

Re: Exterior Wall Insulation
No vapor barrier. The previous owner had double pane windows put in and they did a terrible job with the flashing and the caulking. But it was 14 years ago. Noticed something else. Whoever put the rain gutters in drilled into the siding. There's a bunch of screws sticking through. But, there are no ...

Exterior Wall Insulation
40 year old MH. What R value should I be using? Present insulation is 1" thick. Time to fix some dry rot around a window. I pulled the paneling and the header, trimmers, sill and floor are damaged. I'll have to replace the framing and repair the floor. Wall is framed with 2X4s but the jack stud...
