RE: Replacing a window pane
My al. windows come out by pushing sideways against the spring inside the channel. Slide the window into the middle and with both hands try gripping the top and btm. edge on one end and push hard sideways. Hold the window and ease the "push" side towards you. They go in the same way. Use g...

RE: Knock, Knock, me again...
I have an el. furnace and the noise was from the housing. There were metal brackets screwed to the wall with rubber washers, which transmitted the sound into the walls.
I replaced these with pieces of hose which deadened the sound.

RE: Knock, Knock, me again...
Maybe you have to de-tune it. LOL If you can do it one thing to try is a couple of 2" long radiator hose screwed to the wall behind the setup. Drill a hole in the edge and push the screwdriver into it, then insert the screw and attach. Push the set back onto the hose so there is just enough pre...

FEMA Mobiles in Hope , Ark.
Mark was mentioning these mobiles in another post so I thought I would put it here instead. I used Google Earth to find them and will try and post both. Looks like an abandoned airport NW of Hope. http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=33.716523,-93.659695&z=14&t=h&hl=en http://mobilehomerepair....

RE: Hot water pipes frozen
You're assuming you have frozen pipes yet you say you have cold water running at all taps. Perhaps you need to check if there is blockage in the lines going in or out of the HWT. Not knowing where you are located but we have had -34C overnight and wind chills and my heat tape has kept the water flow...

Re: Cheap Roof Over?
I have a 1972 singlewide in Florida that is only for seasonal use. In the summer it gets very hot inside, sometimes to about 90 degrees. It has the original roof. You don't mention what type of roof you have. When I moved into my mobile 20 years ago I spent my first vacation putting two coats of We...

RE: lack of Humidity
You're very welcome.
With only 5+ weeks to the first day of spring we will hopefully not need our humidifiers much longer.

Isn't it strange on a forum that will not give advice about electric problems, people suggest any number of medical fixes. LOL

RE: roof question
Before you give up on your current roof check to see that a re-level hasn't buckled it and is keeping it away from the rafters.
Sight down the roof-line and see if there is any deviation from straight and level.
JD; Have you ever heard of using metal straps to quieten a roof?
