RE: If you think you can heat your house with space heaters.
Yanita; Does that include all heating costs? Or did you not include gas bill. My latest Hydro bill was $171 for 2,650 KWH. All electric but I am running a floor humidifier this season.

Tanmar; make sure they use a water level. Taking another look at the great pics I notice that the 2 beams are not sitting in the center of the blocks causing them to tilt to the outside. They are prob. too close to the skirt for some reason as most steel beams are inboard around 3'. http://mobilehom...

JD; Maybe the problem is how software "sees" the site. I am running IEX7,XP, 1024x768, 19" wide monitor and yet there are 2" wide blanks at either side of the posts. So the posts are vertical so I have to constantly scroll up and down. Not a big problem, just wondered why. And th...

From what I can see by the pictures, which are always so useful, is it seems the supports are leaning outwards from the center. This suggests to me that the base is crowned and not level. It looks like there are enough supports and not too far apart. Not much you can do this winter. Also someone has...

Thanks Jim. I figured out what they were but was puzzled by your ref. to bedrooms as opposed to GFCI's in bathrooms, etc. When I Googled them I see there is a controversy over their use in older homes where they may trip way too often from arcing in older wires and connections. Some are rec. not to ...

I never mentioned that the album section had changed at all, only the spellchecker is not working right. Here is a screen capture of a full-screen album picture. http://mobilehomerepair.com/phpbb/album_showpage.php?full=true&pic_id=860&user_id=108 When I spell-checked this reply, the spellch...

RE: Spellchecker
Actually it was Robin's album, but applies to all albums, The entries at the bottom push the pic desc. down so you have to constantly scroll up and down, even in full-screen. If you look at each picture alone. It is a programming thing. But I see if you use the slideshow feature it can easily be rea...

Anyone know why the spellchecker is not working? Or is just me.
I also noticed when looking at albums that the poster's comments are hidden at the btm. of the page and missed. Can someone re-arrange the pages text to bring these comments closer to the pics so they make sense.
Thanks.

RE: Solar power roofing
Just a little insight. I've been an avid watcher of everything solar beyond 1990 and have had working hot-air collectors since then. I have many magazines like Pop Science predicting the coming boom in solar cells and lower prices for 35 years. So far it hasn't boomed, maybe because we all want our ...

RE: Added shelves in shed for more storage.
Jim, nice job. We all need extra storage.
Am wondering if you could upload a couple pics of the outside of your garage to your album? Did you build it yourself?
Edit- Oops, I see you said shed.

Jim;
I've been looking around in case my old sound switches fail.
What # and maker of the ones in your picture. Cost and where to get them.

RE: warming the house with a fireplace
When I used my wood stove I placed a 12" fan on the floor in the bedroom doorway and on low speed I pushed the cold air near the floor towards the stove. I hung a string at the top of the doorway and you can see the warm air is moving near the ceiling and into the bedroom. Depending on your mob...
