Re: Sheetrock over....sheetrock???

Thanks for the reply Greg and Greg S., I'll combine my responses in one post. The home looks to be in good shape. I agree, open up the wall and get the window back. I personally don't care for the idea of double layers if sheetrock in a home that old, so I would most likely take it down to the studs...

Sheetrock over....sheetrock???

Hi all, Yesterday we bought a 1982 Star (haven't heard of that brand before) 14x54 2bed/1bath in really good condition about 25 miles south of Portland, OR. It has a rubber roof cap over foam sheet insulation (2" I think). It has some newer vinyl windows on the front door side and the rear (be...

Re: Ceiling material

Thanks for the reply Greg. Sorry I didn't reply earlier as we have been in negotiations on another home. :fingers crossed: It's hard to say what their terminology is because I've found listings that say drywall also. We've been looking at getting a newer mobile home (the one we're in was a 'dufer' as we needed a place to live in a hurry). I've been looking on various MH specific sites as well as real estate sites. One of the s...

Re: Lights Dimming

Dale, The cable doesn't plug directly into the 150amp box. There is a second (replacement) box after the 150amp box, which is what the new cable plugs into. I didn't see what the fuses were in that box but I would have to assume there's a step-down. It serves a small 10x47 1964 home and the park was...

Re: Lights Dimming

We just went through something similar, but much more dramatic. Lost power on the curb side shortly after moving in to the home when I plugged a vacuum into an outlet I hadn't used before. Lights on that side would flicker sometimes or not come on at all. It took me quite a while to figure it out be...
