Re: Master Bathroom Gut & Remodel Complete
Here are a two before pictures, wish I had taken more, but it was a common layout for mobile home master bathrooms. Large corner tub, small shower stall, one sink, zero storage. Our first move into this project was to remove the mauve carpet from the bathroom. Whoever thought carpet in a bathroom is...

Master Bathroom Gut & Remodel Complete
Finally completed my master bathroom remodel! :D It is quite a story, for now all I wanted to do was upload the finished photos. I will upload before photos, in-progress photos, and share quips of some of the more difficult parts of it in coming posts. For now, however, I would like to just relax an...

Re: Crown molding Angles
I just got done doing this with my master bathroom crown...The angle finder helped me out a ton. I searched youtube for helpful videos, but didnt find much. The biggest thing that helped me out was remembering to visual the fence on the miter saw as the wall, and the base as the ceiling. This is def...

Re: Question on mice
saw this while at Menards over the weekend. Spray foam with a bitter ingrediant to deter chewing through it. I have also heard of others mixing steel wool and other hard to chew materials in with the foam while it is curing. http://r1.cygnuspub.com/files/cygnus/image/FRPC/2012/MAY/640x360/12xx-produ...

Re: Any examples of crown molding?
We have popcorn ceiling so our crown molding had gaps from not resting flat to the ceiling. We used a paint-able caulk to fill the gap and it really improved the overall look of it all.

Re: What happened to Zurn Pex @ Lowes?
It may have something to do with this; http://water.epa.gov/drink/info/lead/index.cfm . The company I work for has vendors ramping up efforts with recalls to replace their stock with LEAD-FREE versions before the January 4th date. I just read a post about the complete change over to LEAD-FREE PEX fi...

Re: Plastic corner beads work for inside corners?
I second the ideas from Greg. Those are corner trowels are slick, and a cheap plastic one will do the first job great. Make sure to use a straight metal 6-8" to feather the second coat, and a 10-12" to feather the third coat. I tried to use the metal inside corners w/tape sides, just didnt...

Re: Questions about using primer
it would be best to state what exactly your painting, but it is always best to use one coat of primer and 2 thin coats of paint. The problem with darker colors is paint stores need to add so much tint to the paint that it ruins the coverage and quality of the paint. So if your painting an ultra dark...

Re: What kind of vent is this?
Edit: but you should have one right on the opposite side of the wall on the inside. Mine is also about a foot above the floor behind the dryer in the laundry room and the exterior vent looks just like your picture, even with a couple fins broken too. I wonder if someone removed the interior vent whi...

Re: What color is your mobile home interior painted?
What type of ceiling finish do you have, paneling or textured and painted? Primer prepares substrates for final coats by sealing any imperfections. Like with your walls, they are paneling and need to be sealed so the paint can adhere to it. In my situation, my home was smoked in by the previous owne...
