Re: Bathroom fans
Not wanting to burn the place down, we called a pro. Took him 20 min to do both rooms, and replace bad fan motors. Money well spent :) I noticed when he took the motors out, how gross and dirty the insides were...not sure how often you are supposed to clean them, but I'm pretty sure these had never ...

Bathroom fans
Finally sold our place! Minimal requests by the buyers for closing, but one thing they asked for was working bathroom exhaust fans. Ours were hooked up to a dial timer thing, that never worked, so we just never bothered to use it. I had this brilliant idea to replace the timer, with an on/off switch...

Re: Smell from vent
Hi, No, critters can't get under. It's a double wide, and as far as I know, there is no ducting straight from the unit. Since I scrubbed the vents and ducting with bleach water it seems to have lessened, somewhat. Not entirely though. We don't run the A/C often, so maybe moisture in the ducts, that ...

Smell from vent
Hi all. We recently started smelling what to me, is cat urine, coming from the floor vents when the A/C is on. We have a Coleman heat pump, installed 1995. My question is, can this come from the outside unit, if a cat has sprayed it? We have no cats, but occasionally one will wander through our yard...

Thank you!
It's been awhile since we have sold a home, I had forgotten what it was like dealing with people. They want a new home, at a 20yr old home price. Thank you for the replies, they put an old lady's fears to rest

Squeak!
Hi all.... We are currently trying to sell our house, a 1994 Skyline, and twice now the comment has been made about squeaking floors. There is one area from the kitchen to the dining room that squeaks, and another before the master bedroom. It's not as if the floor sinks, or feels soft, just a littl...

Re: To caulk, or not to caulk....
Sorry it's taken so long to respond, we've been gutting a bathroom and the counter top didn't give up without a fight. Next time, we buy a pre-made vanity. Here is a pic of the gap, the contractor put some kind of material to prevent the cement from touching the skirt, looked like thick cardboard bu...

To caulk, or not to caulk....
Hello... We had a sidewalk poured around the house, and the contractor left a gap of apprx 1/4 inch between the skirting and the cement. I have a phobia with open cracks, anywhere, and want to use a silicone caulk made for use on cement to fill it in. I read here all the time about shifting, so I wa...

]It's been awhile, we've been remodeling like crazy and I wanted to share some of the results...and ask a question. Here are the before and after shots....my question is this: I don't want to replace the pantry door, but make it look more "barn" like, (beadboard, 1x3 trim, heavy iron hardw...

Publication?
Is there a magazine, or online site that will give me a directory of parks, what they allow, size of lots, etc?? We are getting ready to list our home on the market and relocate to a nicer park, but, with 2 med size dogs, I need the largest lot I can get. I also need to find out about pet restrictio...

Coleman T stat replacement
We are replacing our Coleman electric heatpump's Tstat, with a digital model, and wondered if we could use any brand, or if it was best to stick with Coleman.

bathtub replacement.....
Ok...this is probably easy for the rest of you, but I have to ask. We are replacing our tub, just a standard size (not the garden tub), and if it's not too difficult, I would like to try it ourselves. A swap out of tubs, shouldn't be that hard. Right? I read the article here, and it was very informa...

Thanks, I always feel better when I get confirmation from someone here! One day I hope to know more about MH's
Fuse is off, hopefully this is a quick fix.

Water Heater shut off.....
The park manager just came and told us the water will be off tomorrow...more then likely all day due to a leak in one of the lines in the park. I was thinking we should shut down the water heater, and wanted to make sure just flipping the power to that fuse would suffice. I don't need to do anything...

Before we cut a hole.....
Hi all. We are getting estimates from contractors to install a large window in the one side of the house that doesn't have any (just a small bathroom window). It's a double wide, all except the bathroom window are on the longer sides, but we feel one at the end would allow better air flow. My questi...
