Not your typical table talk...
This is a delicate question, and I hope not too offensive. Can we change our toilets to a larger size? Not the toilet itself, but the plumbing, appears to be smaller then average and it is causing some...problems. Lets just say we keep a plunger handy. I haven't crawled underneath or asked a plumber...

Re: Total Remodel
Loved the pictures! Thanks for sharing, looks awesome :) I was curious as to what type of tiles you used on the counter tops, ceramic? They look like 12x12, are they floor tile? If I ever get up the courage, I might tackle a redo on the counter, and I love the look of tile..but being a new DIY'r, I'...

Bead Board..who knew!
Ok, so I'm a little proud of this project, my first attempt at bead board. The biggest hurdle, was cutting corner angles for molding. I get that it's a 45 degree cut, but for some reason, I have a mental block. Ready now to start a bead board backsplash!

Re: Bathtub crisis...
Best idea yet...a 5.00 bath mat to cover the stain. I poured CLR on it, let soak for about 30 min, tried scrubbing..nothing. I did notice some scratch marks where the stain is the darkest, so I agree, the stain is inside the coating. We added it to the list of projects, replacing the tub, after the ...

Re: Bathtub crisis...
Sorry for the delay, holiday stuff and all. Vinegar did nothing. I made a paste with Baking Soda after the Vinegar sat for hours, worked that in, then scrubbed with a nylon scrubber, nothing. I even tried steel wool...didn't dent it. I am afraid of CLR, only because this is a textured tub and I have...

Bathtub crisis...
Hello everyone, I hope your Holiday Season is being good to you! Question about bathtubs...the prev owners had hard water and our tub has a large stain (see pic) The tub also is textured, never seen this before, the floor is cushioned with a textured surface. I have tried Bleach, soaking for days, s...

Re: Upgrade or Build?
Hi Nina, We faced a similar situation. Due to my husband and I both getting laid off and losing good paying jobs, we were forced to sell our home and downsize. It was going to be temporary, just to get caught up and back on our feet. My family and friends all shared the same sentiment..."how ca...

Re: Vinyl Floor planks- WOW!
Hi Devon, sorry, just noticed this post. This pattern is an in stock item at our Home Depot, they have LOTS of it. Each box runs about 44.00, and it took 2 1/2 boxes (so I have some left over if needed). I'm about to do our small bathroom, and this time I bought a "wood" look, also in stoc...

Hello, We are looking at purchasing a piece of land and moving our mobile. I have no idea what the cost is for moving a double wide, so I couldn't tell if I was being taken to the cleaners, or it was legit. Before I start looking for estimates, I was hoping to find out the general ball park. I'd lik...

Re: Ventline???
Thanks for all the great suggestions! You know...being female I am prone to sudden impulse ideas. While looking for a replacement hood at HD, and not finding one that would fit, the young kid in that department asked if I tried to paint it. I thought he was nuts, but...since I had no issues with how...

Ventline???
Hello.... Did Ventline go out of business? We are looking to replace our very simple range hood and I haven't found a Ventline, 42 inches, anywhere on the net. The Ventline site only has 24 inch wide. Is there a comparable model, from another manufacturer? The newer models I have looked at are all s...

Tile over Shower panel
You all have been so helpful and offered such great advice, I am back for more! Has anyone successfully put tile on the shower panel? Not sure what these are, they are not smooth, but textured like wallpaper, yet not as flimsy. I have been looking for the trim to redo where the wall meets the tub, a...

Re: Skirting
Hi Greg S, I didn't want the metal roofing material, and our local HD (can I say Home Depot here?) doesn't carry the vinyl skirting. We live 45 min from anywhere, so are limited in our choices of stores. I did find a website that ships what I want, if I can't get it from the local mobile home dealer...

Re: Skirting
Greg, thanks for pointing me to the articles, I never noticed them before! I am armed with a bit more knowledge for the installation. Norm, I am calling a few tomorrow, hoping they can tell me where to buy the skirting. We have quite a few mobile home neighborhoods in this area, surely someone sells...

Waiting for paint fumes to die down in the bathroom, so I have migrated outside. I did some reading here regarding skirting...and all say to have a track at the bottom, that is fastened to the "pad". I have no pad, and no bottom track. The first month we were here I laid large rocks around...
