We only have HD here in Canada. We have Rona too, but they vary widely from store to store. I don't use the one in town here, but travel 20 min. to the next one. Wish Lowes and Menards would expand into Canada. There are a lot of great smaller and independant stores here though.

The spray in foam acts as a vapour barrier too. It is more expensive and, as mentioned, can be a pain if you have to go into the wall for wiring etc. I personally prefer batt insulation, and go toward Roxul brand. It is a celulose insulation treated with boric acid. It is a natural pest repellant an...

On the other hand...would you really want someone trained in plumbing to do the belly repair. He is a plumber after all, and may mess it up worse. He may have been thinking along those lines. IMO it is better to do it right the first time with proper material, than to guess and make a worse job for ...

Well, I am glad to see more people have the same taste as we do. We are going 1/2" T&G on all our walls and ceilings (someday), BUT we will be removing all the sheetrock first to add vapour barrier. I calculated the weight and by replacing the 5/8" sheetrock on the ceiling alone, we li...

I remember when we used to get together and chat. It was great! It doesn't really require the video. I think that would only slow it down with the bandwidth requirements. Oh, the good old days! lol

Sending out a big prayer for you. Here in southern Ontario it is like summer and we regret putting away the air conditioners. Get well soon!

The landlord here is gone all summer, basically abandoning the park. He will not enforce any of the rules of the park. We have had boil water advisories from the first of the year to the end of August, save for about 3 weeks. Yet he wants add a surcharge on the water. This is on top of the extra mon...

Giving up

After years of trying to get the land owner to do his job, fighting un-fair and illegal charges. Idiot neighbours, noise, bad maintenance, etc. We have decided that the toll is costing us too much financially and emotionally. We are giving up our beloved home and looking to buy another place where w...

If it is a single wide the only load bearing walls are the exterior ones. Hope this helps, I can't really figure out what you are getting at either. But then, I am getting to that age, lol.

depends on what shape and type the roof is. Shingle roofs should not be walked on much as it takes the aggregate off it. Membrane covered roofs can be punctured too. If it a weight issue the roof should be strong enough but a sheet of plywood to distribute the weight will help.

Trailer Park Boys

Has anyone caught this show? I just finished watching 7 seasons of it and it is hilarious! Some might be offended by the language, but it does go with the show.

If you are reframing the wall, the window can be eliminated or moved. Get a really good exhaust fan for the bathroom. The higher CFM, the better.
