How long will a mobile home last?
I'm about to invest around $11,000 more into my mobile home. Part of it was renovated by the previous owner and a new roof was put on. I'm going to re-do the two bedrooms and bath in the back as well as the laundry area. All new plumbing electrical etc. Home is about 30 years old but in great struct...

RE: Do I need a underbelly?
Thanks for the good idea.
I might not use it but I'll pass it on to my neighbor.
For me it's probably best to use the other heaters
since I might be only using certain parts of the house
at a time. If I lived there all year I would have probably
used your idea and kept the furnace.

RE: Do I need a underbelly?
I don't live in it all year but I would like to go there on some days during the winter. I would have two Monitor type heaters plus a propane. One heater would be in the living room and kitchen area. One would be in he bigger bedroom. I would have a smaller propane heater in the second bedroom. One ...

Do I need a underbelly?
I'm going to re-do the balance of my vacation home. Part of the renovation will include moving all my pipes into the interior. I need to do this since I don't like the noisy furnace. Sounds like a jet plane. My neighbor has a new one and it's also pretty noisy so it's not just because my is old. I w...

Tankless Propane water heater
Going to renovate the last 2/3 of the trailer. Thinking of going with a tank-less hot water heater to save space and to make it easier to drain the water system. It's a summer home with inter mitten winter use. Need something with a low gph trigger rate. I have a shallow well pump and it's not exact...

RE: Belly Board Question
Thanks for the great info.
Internet is an amazing thing.
There is always someone out there that knows.
Thanks Yanita for splitting the thread.
Subject would have gotten lost in the old thread.

RE: Newbie w/winterizing questions
I'm using a wet vac to get the water out of the toilet. I reverse the hose and use it as a blower to push the water out of the sink and tub traps and fill those with antifreeze. I have a shallow well pump and water expansion tank under the trailer. There is a valve by the pump to hookup a hose to it...

RE: Just a few questions.....
I have some of the belly board missing also. My home is about 30 years old. It has that Buffalo board. One place where it is missing is around the bottom of the sink area. Some of the pex piping goes down just a little below the buffalo board. I guess I could force it back up a little. I put some pi...

RE: Re-insulate under slide out
Looks like my trailer. Why do I bother taking pictures when I can just look here. My trailer is from the 70's. I have holes here and there also. I'm not sure if ther was any factory installed insulation there at all. Looks like only what they stuffed in after they punced holes for the plumbing repai...

[quote="Foxy LadyI bought an Oxygenics head, looks like metal but made of resin. Says it uses 30-70% less water and increases the oxygen in the water. energytechlabs.com Nicky T[/quote] I put one of those heads in my NJ home and the thing is great. You will never run out of hot water. I bet it ...

RE: Winterizing
What is a Jockey pump? I have a similar situation. House in Northern Adirondacks where 30 below is common. Power outages do occur. Most of the time they a brief but can last 24 hours from time to time. I have a shallow well pump with a pressure tank under the trailer. It has a permanent foundation a...

RE: foundation venting
The place I bought has only one "vent" it's a screened window approx 1.5x2 feet in size. It's the only opening. No moisture problems that I can see but will give it a good look this weekend. Can't see venting in the winter. Gets to 30 below on a regular basis in my town. In the other three...
