RE: snow snow go away !

It is funny that Troyster mentioned gardening at the end of May. The first year I lived up here, I planted at the end of March. Everyone thought I was nuts. It was a perfect year. Everyone else was just planting at the end of May, and I was planting my second round. Now, I'm lucky if I can get a ful...

RE: Torch on

Don't believe the addition had shifted to leak that bad, and supports are far above expectations for what the home inspector even suggested. Bad weather, and an Idiot on the roof are what I'm blaming this one on.

RE: snow snow go away !

I should have called you to go up the ladder, Troyster. I should have taken pics of all the water. At least I could still cook this morn. I actually debated what I was gonna do with everything in the fridge if the power didn't come back on. Thornhill hasn't had power since 7:00pm last night, so I sh...

RE: can you paint over outlet / switch covers?

I finally replaced all my outlets, switches and covers. But before i did, I used to fancy them up for everyroom by gluing material to each cover. Could always match the theme of each room.

RE: Torch on

The weather here has kinda been out of sorts. It decided to snow and rain yesterday. The slush was trapped against the flashing, and had nowhere to go but in. Thanks Troyster, but if you had seen how wet we were, you would have ran home and hid. No wonder I can't get rid of my cold! :?

RE: Torch on

My cousin and I got it tarped until the weather clears. Already have a roll of torch-on. Just sitting in the shed waiting to be done. As for the family friend roofer, well, he has left town cause he developed a rather expensive habit besides the drinking one, and has lost his whole family because of...

No comments about Sunday? My man Matt is gonna get a cam again in his car. He was more or less a nobody in the last race. I think I only heard his name mentioned once. Maybe he didn't win cause I was wearing my Talladega nights, Ricky Bobby shirt!

RE: Torch on

We have done the torch before, and being applied to original trailer roof and overlap to tin on addition. We are doing a new roof(snow roof or tin roof, what ever you want to call it) This summer, but do not want to deal with another flood before then. I couldn't remember what temp, cause when we di...

Torch on

I came home from work today to find my bootroom and kitchen flooded. I was in tears. New flooring. The Terrace weather was calling for snow, but never had a problem. Today the slushy snow piled on the roof of the addition, and then it started raining. Came home to a waterfall indoors, where the flas...

RE: Underbelly project - need advise

LOL... Sorry for the chuckle, But The Buffalo board in my room is all on the ground under my trailer. Didn't know until I had to replace the floor. That is the only room that now has two layers of plywood and carpet until I can get under there to deal with it.

I like Greg's idea, since alot of new tubs are higher. If you have the room. I have a small bathroom and we ended up with a similar problem. We extended the tile to the edge of the floor and then ran tile up to meet the edge of the tub skirting. There will be a pic in personal photo album.

RE: Saying Hi Everyone,

Hey Yanita, I had to find a file small enough to load as an avatar. I tried to do a pic of myself, but couldn't get the pixel size small enough. There are sites that you can get them certain sizes. My kids chose Crazy Frog for me. I don't think I'm that strange, but until I can figure it out that wi...

RE: Manufactured home,Mobile Home or Trailer???

We looked into the cost of putting a trailer on land, and it would only cost about 5 thou to put in the septic, gas, etc. The problem we face here is that the only company insured to move a mobile home close to us is 6 1/2 hrs away. They want another 5 thou to come and move it. Ours has no wheels, a...

RE: Atlanta..NASCAR Fans

We installed one of our new living room windows last Sunday. Of course the one across the room from the T.V. My husband stood on the latter watching the race most of the time. 4 hours in the cold without a window. I know better than to do things like that on Sunday now.
