RE: homeowners insurance

Harry,

I will have to look at our policy when I get back home later this week.

Watch out for tornadoes out your way today :(

Koiflowers,

Thanks for the breakdown...I will compare it to our policy and see how ours stack up.

RE: homeowners insurance

We are out of state right now, but I am going to check on our policy when we get back home and I will let you know what I find out. We have been with Foremost for 14 years and our premiums have always been high...in 1994 we were paying $140.00 a month. To make matters worse, we have never even filed...

RE: homeowners insurance

We are insured through Foremost as well. After reading what Yanita and Koiflowers pay for their coverage, we may have to do some research. We live in the Texas Panhandle, do not have (or need) flood insurance and we are paying a premium of $185.00 per MONTH :?

RE: What' the best paint ?

Our favorite brand of paint is McCloskey Multi-Use which is made by Valspar and sold at Wal-Mart. It combines the primer and paint all in one, so there is no need to prime before painting. We have used it to paint the interior and exterior of our house and found that it adheres well to just about an...

RE: Ideas for new siding?

Koiflowers, We didn't get a written quote from GenStone, but we talked with a salesman and gave him the dimensions and he calculated that it would cost us between $4,000.00-$6,000.00 three years ago. We did however get a quote to brick it with real brick and that quote was $10,000.00-$15,000.00 for ...

RE: Ideas for new siding?

Heidi O, Take a look at these websites www.fauxpanels.com and www.genstoneproducts.com. We looked into "bricking" our house a couple of years ago and came across this product. It is lightweight...1/2 - 1 pound per square foot; it has an R value of approximately 2.9; and you can install the...

Re: RE: Valentines Day

Harry, I guess that I'm not traditional when it comes to Valentine gifts either! My Hubby laughs, he says I am the only women he knows that would prefer a home improvement gift card than the jewelry store! Heck we don't even go to eat during the holidays...the lines are horrendous! Yanita I would mu...

RE: need to do some remodeling......... inside and out......

Kim, When we painted our house, we used McCloskey, which is made by Valspar, and sold at Wal-Mart. The thing that we really like about it is that is has the paint and primer all in one. It has a 25 year warranty to not chip, fade or peel. I was skeptical of those statements until this year. We paint...

RE: need to do some remodeling......... inside and out......

kmclaughlin, I hated to send the picture of my house since everything is brown right now. I airbrushed green grass on that picture but my husband said that it looks weird...so I guess that I won't send it. But the yellow really does look good when the grass is all green and the climbing rose is in f...

RE: need to do some remodeling......... inside and out......

kmclaughlin, Hi! We have replaced 20 windows in our house. We had the typical mobile home"storm windows" which was really just two windows about 5" apart. We replaced them with double hung, vinyl windows that we bought from Lowe's. Of course, being mobile home windows, they were not s...

RE: Aspartame

Mark, I have never drank a lot of diet drinks that contain aspartame but a few years ago, I was drinking more than I realized. I became concerned when I started having problems with my memory; all of a sudden, I could not remember things such as phone numbers (my cell phone, my husband's work phone,...
