Hey look! I'm not dead!
I know, heck of a title. But, I've been ill and am now down with bronchial pneumonia. But I wanted to update those who were interested on the "new" trailer situation. After months of battles, and trying to find someone to move what seemed to be a simple move, I finally have a guy moving th...

Re: RE: Patience please- rant/vent
Hi Jaie, Sorry for the frustrations, but glad to hear from you. Thought you had forgot about us. I'm sorry, but did you say how big this tip out is somewhere and I missed it? How far does this home have to be moved, a couple hundred yards, couple of miles? You said they do not have to haul it down ...

RE: Patience please- rant/vent
There is no pushing in to this tip out. It's not only been added on to, but it has a roof over. At this point, I'm ready to say the heck with it and just stay in this dump I'm in already. This isn't worth the hassle at this rate.

Patience please- rant/vent
So, I've been in the process of buying a new place. It's a slightly larger, newer trailer/mobile home. It has a push out on it that we discovered today, cannot be pushed in, and the current property it is on, the woman who owns the property does not want anyone on the property until it's actually mo...

RE: Flooring
I purchased my laminate flooring at Big Lots. $10 a box, and I was able to do an entire bedroom. And I'm mean enough to be taking it with me to the new place for the kitchen. Floating AND you can break it down if you really must. All those years in construction come in handy for deconstruction

RE: Alberta
I was in Alex Bay over the weekend and it was $3.25 and up. Down here in Oswego it's about $3.19 and rising. They're predicting $380 before the end of June. I hope not. I don't drive, but it affects everything around me that I buy.

Re: RE: Painting over wallpaper and wallboard?
I don't know if it's been mentioned yet, but Mark has a DVD on painting over wallboard. :) You need a DVD to teach you how to paint over wallboard? Save your money: www.google.com A monkey with a paint brush can do it. Because, it's nice to support a site that is done voluntarily. And is offered, f...

RE: Who has tiled kitchen walls?
A fast web search will give you all sorts of info. I see This Old House has a nice tutorial on back splashes, why you need them, how to install and etc. http://snipurl.com/1lgvm I also suggest that you look up how to do "mosaic tile" it's smaller and more geared towards trailer decorating ...

Re: RE: Vertical Blinds - can they be painted?
painting blinds is a pain! Another thing that is a pain is putting on a decal or wallpaper. Sometimes it works out looking good though! Blinds are pretty cheap though! If you want to paint them, spraying is the only way to go! Jim Yes and no. If you don't care that they are white, yeah go out and b...

RE: Vertical Blinds - can they be painted?
It depends on what they are made of. I'm going to assume they are vinyl with more than likely a fabric texture. I suggest using Krylon Fusion. http://tinyurl.com/2suzg In order to paint blinds, it's IMO really a bad idea to take them apart unless you are totally convinced you can get them together. ...

LOL! Reverse snobbery. Dr. Phil is a smart guy
As I said, as long as it's called home I fondly even call it the tin can.

tone of endearment with her trailer. JD *snort* glad the hate ain't showing. And I do feel it some days trust me. I just figure there is more to get upset with in this place than whether I call it a trailer or a mobile home. Falling through the floor, exploding water pipes, outlets that burst into ...

Re: RE: This Old Trailer Online
Hi, Yeah, LOL, Jaie does have terms of endearments about her home, personally I have enjoyed her site, and sense of humor about it all! Not everyone can have that when you fall through the floor! ~Yanita~ I'd go insane if I didn't. I haven't gone through it a third time, so I think it knows ...

The link I sent in my last post, has allot of very innovative pictures of add ons and conversions as well as a few pretty well decorated trailers, ooops.. manufactured homes. Re: RE: This Old Trailer Online
Yup, I certainly missed your wink! I certainly agree with you though, regardless of what anyone calls my home...it is just that a home! You know I never paid any attention to the signs, but you are right, they say MH Park, not trailer park. Good observation. Sometimes that is not even a fair ...
