RE: Laundry room wallboard repair issue

Thanks Brenda for that info. I will keep it in mind. I figured if I could install regular plywood & apply a waterproof wall paper it would be alot less expensive for my pocketbook. I constantly keep an eye on those pipes behind the wall becuse our direct drive washer jumps & shakes around al...

RE: Laundry room wallboard repair issue

You took the words right out of my mouth Greg. I do not believe in using nails in anything in my house. Every thing in my house is secured with screws from all the projects I have achieved. Wife will not let me use a hammer cause it might knock down all your lovely expensive pictures. LOL! You know ...

RE: Laundry room wallboard repair issue

Thanks Greg! As you can see the width of the old board is around 38"'s & the board is 98"'tall. Trying to find a board that tall. Thinking of purchasing a 1/4" sheet of plywood if I can find some that tall & apply wallpaper to the board. May have to slice the board to fit at t...

Hey Robert! I have a question about setting my Hunter digital nonprogrammable thermostat to a comfortable setting so our electric bill won't be so high in 100 degree outside temps. Next week is going to be up into the over 100 degree temps. My wife has to keep it so cold in our house & sets it t...

Yeh! I didn't think about installing a extra stud to support the outlet. Stupid manufactured design. Thanks for that tip.

RE: Laundry room wallboard repair issue

Yeh!! I did it finally. You see what i'm up against. The board got completely soaked with water all the way up to the electrical box which cause the box to tear out of the wall when trying to remove the plug. Tried cleaning the mold up with a spray agent (clorox cleanup) & using baking soda all ...

Thanks Greg. I'm Glad you told me that. I'll get another one soon. You & your family & staff have a Happy & Safe New Year. Goes for you too Brenda. Maybe 2009 will be better than 2008.

I might add Robert, I believe I fixed my problem with fancoming on at times when the furnace is off. I read on your troubleshooting link about setting the thermostat setting from 3-4 & no lower than that cycle time & set it to 3 & it no longer goes on & off. The only thing about the ...

RE: Heat tape life span

Great response to both. The heat tape is just inside behind the skirting protected with insulation rapped around it also, but will have to remove one panel to see if it has gone south. It has a little lite bulb inside the loom. Thanks David!

Heat tape life span

I need to know how long heat tape will last. I installed one about 10 yrs. ago when we moved our tlr. from another location. Allthough my pipes are fine & have not had any problems with pipes freezing in the past. I just want to know if its time to install a new one for safety reasons. It has no...
