Re: Bigger air unit

Okay, I'll check that. I have the paper work on the furnace and air unit too, so I'll look at those too. The repair guy said he thought a 3.5 ton would work but I am thinking if my wiring and all can handle it maybe a 4 ton is better. The 3 ton that we have does struggle in the heat of the day. I ha...

Bigger air unit

Wondered if you guys could weigh in on this. I have a double wide 50x24 mobile home and we had a front room added on that measures around 12x15. We need to get air and heat out there. I had to call a repairman the other day as my air unit went down and was questioning him about whether my 3 ton unit...

Fiberglass Tub

I finally got the main bathroom tub converted to a shower but now I need to replace my master bath's garden tub. I would like to replace it with a fiberglass garden tub. Does anyone know if the fiberglass tub is significantly heavier? I have a family friend that said they could help me but I don't k...

RE: Smoke alarms

Thank you Greg. Yes, I saw the plug. So, I can get new one that I can just plug back in and not have to mess with the wires?

RE: Smoke alarms

Thank you for the help. They are the originals so that must be the trouble. Chirping is exactly what it sounds like. Yep, I just went and checked it and it is hardwired as you say. So I need to get another hardwired detector with a battery backup? I have other battery powered detectors in the house ...

Smoke alarms

I have two factory installed smoke detectors in my 1990 Fleetwood double wide. Well, either they are smoke detectors or some kind of heat detectors. I'm not sure. They are mounted about 3/4 of the way up the wall in the livingroom. They are wired into the electrical system. When we loose power they ...

Interior doors

Hey all, I have a Fleetwood brand 1990 doublewide. I want to update my bedroom doors, but not with paint. I like the wood grain on the door and I am afraid if I paint them the door will scrape on the jam and remove the paint. My question is......Has anyone stained their interior simulated wood grain...

RE: Window screen replacement parts?

Thank you Greg. I did not realize the hardware store would have these. I was thinking I had to buy them from a mobile home supply. I already ordered some but I will check my local hardware first next time. Thank you for your help.

Window screen replacement parts?

Hi All,
Does anyone know an on-line site where I could purchase replacement parts for my window screens? The metal sides are fine but what I need to replace are the little plastic corner connectors. They have all dry rotted from the sunlight.
Thank you for your help.

RE: Replacing bathtub

Thank you Harry. This is great information.

Do you know where I can find a national listing for contractors that do this kind of work? I'd like to see if there is anyone that specializes in mobile home tub repair or replacement in my area.

Thank you again for your help.
