RE: Putting steel wool around excess holes
Another mobile owner told me to address freezing pipes by leaving the vanity doors open during sub-zero weather......I assume this is to get warm air down there?.....which I did and had no more freeze ups last winter........if I drilled small holes( 1" or so) in my duct work, would that help ke...

Putting steel wool around excess holes
I bought a 20 yr old mobile last year and it had steel wool stuffed around all the plumbing excess holes, under the bathroom and kitchen sinks. I removed all of them after I had pipes freeze up last winter in the belly. I did not think much of this until a friend told me they do this to keep the col...

RE: Adding Tiles squares with adhesive backing
Is the "3m hd 90 spray adhesive" hard to remove, if should I need to make repairs in the future......will I pull up chuncks of particle board?
And if I just use primer on the particle board, will it bubble in spots?

Adding Tiles squares with adhesive backing
I would like to tile my kitchen with 12” x 12” tiles with the adhesive backing. Can I apply them directly to the particle board? If I paint the particle board first, will that give me better adhesion? I know that I probably should put the Luan board down first and use the filler, but I am try to get...

Sky Light clean up
I have a 20 yr old Skyline MH with a skylight that has 2 layers of plastic material. The previous owners had put duct tape over the inner layer (do not know why) and when it was removed it left the residue from the glue. I have tried scrapping it off with a razor blade, but I know it will leave scra...

RE: Vinyl Sheetrock Covering
Thanks, I need to give that a try. I just primed over the vinyl on my last project and it flakes off pretty easy.

If the area is not too large you could put a piece of decorative wood to hide the holes.

RE: Partial bathroom floor replacement in manufactured home
When I patched in small areas using plywood, I found that odds and ends of vinyl flooring, on top of the plywood work good for filling in the step let by plywood to particle board mismatch.

RE: removing gardend tub questions
I just went through this myself! I removed the tub and made a small domputer nock out of this area and was able to do everything from the top. I just cut the tub in half and that makes it easy to access the water and such. I capped off the water lines and just attached them to the inside of the cabi...

RE: different crimp rings and crimpers
I can tell you what happens if it does not hold! Yes, I had a questionable repair that held for a couple of days and then it just blew off. The water ran for about 2 hr's before I caught it. What a mess! My advise....If it is questionable....get it fixed correctly! If properly crimped, I don't think...

How warm should it feal...100 degree??? Like a hot tub or just barely warm? I felt it when the outside temp. was 55'ish and
could not say for sure it was on.

Heat Tape Question
I live in Central Wisc. and am a newbie to mobile home living and have a question on heat tapes. The previous owners had put a new heat tape in earlier this year and now I am trying to figure out if it is working. It has a little light, so it has power, but does not seem to be very warm to the touch...
