Re: Help Please - bathtub faucet / shower head
The shower head does just unscrew from the front but you have to hold the small pipe that's coming out from the wall (most likely plastic) very carefully so it doesn't break or spin with the head itself. If you look at new shower heads you'll see where they screw onto the piece. My wife uses scrubbi...

Re: Help Please - bathtub faucet / shower head
Cartridges are under the handles/levers and can be accessed by popping the plastic cap off the handles with a gentle pry with a screwdriver. Once the cap is off this will allow you to take a Phillips screwdriver and loosen the set screws that hold both handles on. Most likely you will have brass car...

8" is measured from behind but often center to center knob. you cannot replace this from the front you may need to remove a panel to get access to the back. theres 2 nuts that hold the fixture to the tub wall. it is called a diverter valve. why are you replacing these? you can just turn off the...

Check the temp ratings on both i guess, but I would be very hesitant to add something to my septic that's not rated for it..

Re: Worried about freezing PEX pipe
Fwiw... My wife and I purchased a foreclosed doublewide in southwest michigan. It has pex and was sitting vacant for a year or so I believe. Well the p traps in all the sinks and the porcelain toilet bases busted out from freezing water. The pex did not have one split though. Maybe it was closer to ...

Re: What to do with skylight hole, ideas?
I would insulate the opening and cut some white foam board to kinda match the ceiling color. Then trim the foamboard (like science fair foamboard) a hair longer in a few spots and push into opening so it follows the ceiling contour. It there are gaps you are unhappy with buy some white insulation ta...

Re: Cats in the ductwork.
I would do as ponch mentioned and in the garden sprayer I would use a product called MICRO BAN. It is sold in gallon containers and works very very well for mold, mildew, smells, etc. possibly Home Depot carries it. I have used this and it does work. I haven't used it for cat smells but water damage...

Re: I fixed me electrical problem...so happy now.
I am saying that sending a possible 20 amps through a rated 15 amp outlet is a safety hazard. First and foremost. Additionally, I have seen plenty wire nut connections come loose cause the person making the connection doesn't know how to check it. Electricity is not something to hope to get right. H...

Re: I fixed me electrical problem...so happy now.
Some of the info is not correct IMO.
I would never mismatch amp ratings, wire sizes, etc.
Safety is a priority and always call a licensed electrician when in doubt.. This thread should be locked.
