Re: Kitchen space issue
My hesitation with the stove is if I move it from its spot, don't I then have to move the hood assembly as well?

Kitchen space issue
Ok, I have a kitchen remodel in mind, the only problem is my stove hides part of my base cabinets. On an 8 foot long countertop, I lose about two feet because of the stove. I want to put new base cabinets and granite countertop, but don't know what to do about the loss of space. As it is now, I open...

Re: Kitchen Lights
I took out that type of lighting in my place and put in recessed lighting. Made it look a lot nicer.

ceiling fan installation
I have a double wide and want to put a ceiling fan in the dining room. Because of the ceiling (about 7-8 foot high) I will put in a flush mounted fan. My question is I have a roof and then tin and then ceiling panel. With no wood to support the fan, what should I do? My brother suggested a box mount...

Habitat for Humanity restores
Don't know if this topic has been broached, but my brother the electrician turned me on to the Habitat for Humanity Restores. I have two in Orange County and they are great for resources. I found stuff there like cabinets, doors, rugs and hardware for next to nothing. Plus you are contributing to a ...

RE: flooring choices
I totally agree with Greg. If you have an IKEA near you they have wood laminate that starts at $1.15 a square foot. Home Depot has it as well for about a dollar more a square foot. It is snap in type with no glue needed and has a 15 year warranty. I am putting it in my place. My handyman had a great...

Ok, last question for tonight, I promise. Closet organizers
I have no closet in my bedroom and space is at a premium. I saw this http://www.samsclub.com/shopping/naviga ... tem=165606 at Sam's Club and thought it might work. Do I need a closet to install this or do you think I can affix it right onto my wall?

Well first I must say this site is a godsend. I will be the proud owner of a 1977 Viking with an add on Dec. 1 and can't wait. A half a block from the beach in So Cal and right next to downtown Huntington Beach aka Surf City. In the living room (add on) it has the 2x4 foot crappy looking tiles and t...
