RE: Nordyne Heat-Pump trips breaker
If the breaker trips instantly when you call for heat or a/c you have a short in the outside condensing unit. It could be a shorted fan motor, burnt wire on your compressor terminals, or a short to ground inside your compressor windings. With the power off to your outside unit and inside air handler...

RE: Shutters - wood or vinyl ??
I had the same problem with what they call open louvered vinyl so I replaced them with the closed louvered vinyl which prevented the wasps from entering from the front and then I filled the small gaps on the sides with DAP latex foam sealant it doesn't expand very much at all.

RE: Question about replacing PB with PEX
You may already have one but since you are doing all this work to convert to Pex which uses a crimp fitting I would recommend installing a water pressure regulator and check valve on your main incoming water line. Where I live out in the county the pressure can exceed 80 psi at times and that is tou...

RE: Filter for Intertherm Electric A/C & Furnace
Nordyne does make an accessory sheet metal box that fits over the coil and uses a hogs hair filter. This piece is hard to find and you loose the convenience of easy cleaning of your coil. This is one area that Nordyne needs to come up with an accessory that allows for the use of conventional pleated...

Roof Replacement
I've got a 1996 Palm Harbor that came with an asphalt shingle roof with R-30 insulation. Was thinking of replacing with an architectural metal but wondering about the noise difference between a shingle roof and a metal roof when it rains. Has anyone made the change to metal and noticed an increase i...

RE: Self stick tiles
Ron you may want to remove the tile and install luan board then glue down sheet vinyl. The board will give you a smooth finish to your tile without any imperfections from the original floor. I prefer sheet vinyl in bathrooms because of the inevitable water on the floor from daily use of shower, tub a...

RE: Ducts are making a LOT of noise lately!
Do you heat with gas, electric strips, or heat pump? Is your heat/ac unit a package unit(the whole system is located outside) or a split system where you have the air handler(furnace) located inside and a condenser outside?

RE: Intertherm Condenser Motor Wires
Moe - just for your info and to help avoid any confusion when you are getting parts. When you say condenser motor to a service tech or parts person we immediately think you are talking about the outdoor fan motor that exhaust to the outside air. When you are referring to the indoor fan motor that di...

RE: Intertherm Condenser Motor Wires
Moe, it sounds like you have two very different motors . Was the Emerson a direct replacement for the GE? Was the GE available? As it appears from your post each motor is controlled differently the GE has low and high voltage connections and associated relay. Where the Emerson appears to be all high...

RE: Intertherm....problems
There are several things that happen when you switch to emergency heat. First your compressor and outdoor fan(not your indoor blower) should shut off and stay off the entire time you have it in the emergency heat mode. Second your heat strips and indoor blower should cycle together when ever your t-...

RE: e2eb-015ah
Do have a heat pump or are you heating with electric strip heat only? You said you went under your house and taped up the ductwork is your ductwork protected by insulation and belly board material or is it exposed? Do you have any skirting around your house? As mentioned above by Robert an amp meter...

RE: Silly question about mystery electical wall switch
Before doing this turn off the breaker to those switches and still be careful in case one of the switches is still hot. First thing I would do (and you may have done this) is take the switch plate off and look to see if any wires are connected to the mystery switch. If not no sense in looking any fu...

Pex crimper
When you use a pex crimper on a poly to pex fitting and you get a no go reading can you adjust the crimper and re-crimp the same band on the fitting or should you remove the crimp band and install a new one and re-crimp?
Thanks
