Re: Nuclear vs. Solar vs Wind. Who is mightier?
I follow the view that in the future, keeping up with demand will require every type of power generation tech there is,and, the development of more types, and, improving on all of it as time goes.

Got it!
Well I got my Fix-A-Windshield kit in the mail. Sent off for it and a couple other things I needed. I haven't tried it yet, but, since the other topic https://www.mobilehomerepair.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=7239 was locked due to my slowness(excuse me,I'm drinkin)I thought I'd get the ball roll...

Have plenty of contractor garbage bags on hand for insulation and such.

Re: what do you do with a MH too far gone?
Yes,gut it. I'd suggest gutting, then remove the windows/siding,then the roof, then trusses, then wall studs. There will be wiring to pull etc as you go of course. That's general order and should be reverse of assembly. When it's time for the roof I'd try to bash it outwards/up from inside with an 8' 2x...

Re: what do you do with a MH too far gone?
There might be a salvager that would buy it cheap,or take it for free. If there's lot rent involved then consider that it has to be paid by someone until the home has been completely removed,,property taxes too I'd guess. I wouldn't pay anybody to tear it down unless I absolutely had to for some rea...

Re: I am not trailer trash, I am trailerlicious!
There's just no accounting for taste,Andrea's neighbors have a taste for alcohol,as do I. I don't want my beer 24/7 though, that's just way too much. I like to have a few very dark beers(Goose Island Oatmeal Stout!! mmm yummy!) and maybe get a bigger snoot on once in a while,,like last Saturday night...

"rant"?? How can it be a rant Andrea? There are no "!!!!" or "CAPS" or "CAPS!!!",or over sized fonts,or cuss words,or  ,or  ,or  . You,my dear, are a very mellow ranter. :) 8) Interesting stories though, keep em coming, sounds like the...

Re: MH roof repair-new post with pics, please read
Hmmm,I pondered all this last night an had no clue what to say. Now my morning coffee is kickin in. This paragraph is not advice Ronald,,simply a thought......You seem set on adding the metal. If the roof doesn't collapse and you don't hear trusses cracking as you apply the swimming pool metal then *...

Re: MH roof repair
Is this a low domed roof with roll metal crimped/folded at the seams? I would guess there is a truss every 16" like my 1976 home. If that is the case I don't see how the metal could indent 4' wide all the way across the home unless the two middle trusses(1 mid truss if 24" spacing)are dama...

Very sorry to hear about your family member and neighbor Joe. It's been nasty here in the Midwest, one city had 111 heat index last week on Wednesday. I was near there working on a house in the countryside, surrounded by trees that stopped the breeze and the site was a sopping wet mud hole, very nasty,...

Re: Solar is cheaper than you think
Well off people could kill 2 birds. They have the chip to go off grid, they 1-save money while 2-promoting the tech by buying it. In theory that should 3-bring the future cost down for all. Hmmm, almost looks more like 3 birds. I would suggest the industry carefully but strongly push the above "a...
