I just think it would look more "authentic" on an exterior wall, as opposed to one of the room dividing walls. Not sure how your kitchen is configured. My stove and sink are on the same exterior wall with a large window above the sink. If I were to try your method, I'd do the brick effect ...

That looks really cool! How thick is the compound applied? I'm wondering if it will crack if/when you get the house leveled or if the exterior walls expand or contract? If it doesn't, then I think it would look great on the wall that has your sink, stove, and window.

Hi, I can't help you out with info on concrete but my home is the same size as yours and I had metal skirting installed last year. It cost me about $2,500 and was worth every penny, as far as I'm concerned! It's sturdy and immovable and holds up to aggressive weed-eating without any problems at all!...

Jim, No offense, but you're getting really upset over something that isn't worth it. "Red Eye" ISN'T a NEWS SHOW. It's a totally off-the-wall comedy program FOX runs at 2 a.m. I've seen it once and it makes Saturday Night Live look tame but it's the same type of program. It is no more a Fo...

I think a lot depends on your policy. I have a replacement policy, which means they can't deduct "depreciation" from what they give me. That makes a big difference! I haven't had water damage in my MH but I did at my former stickbuilt home when an AC line backed up and flooded part of my m...

Great info, thanks!
Does anyone know if you can take the credits when the improvements were done with insurance money from a storm claim? I've used the money toward upgrading my roof and storm door instead of just replacing with like materials.

Trudi, Well, at least you realized the entertainment center was too big before you took it home! A friend of mine found a gorgeous, huge armoire at the ReStore near her home, arranged transport, and then realized it wouldn't fit through her bedroom doorway! I think she was able to sell it to ...

Are y'all familiar with the Habitat for Humanity ReStores??? If not, they are warehouses run by Habitat for Humanity where stores, contractors, and individuals donate unwanted items for resale. You can get all sorts of things REALLY cheap! And the proceeds benefit Habitat for Humanity! :D I always t...

Actually, the economy here is pretty good here, too, and homes are very affordable. I'm wondering if MH financing (through the dealers) is easier to get for average folks with imperfect credit since the banks won't lend. Check listings in West Texas, Mark. Prices are good here. Can't help you with a...

In my neighborhood, I've noticed some positive changes occurring. The few properties/lots that have been empty have been sold and new MHs set up. Another gentleman is looking to invest in the neighborhood. He stopped by to talk with me when I was outside. He bought two homes with their land and has ...
