Repairing counter top
I'd like to repair instead of replacing a section of counter top in the kitchen where the particle board rotten out from under the laminate. The area affected is only about 4" wide by 7" long and runs next to the sink cut out. The laminate itself is good and that is the only area that got ...

RE: Painting ceilings
I guess I'll leave the ceilings as is. It's not like anyone is going to know the difference anyway.

Commercial wallcoverings
http://www.walloutlet.com/?gclid=CJrEzYbYmZkCFQsMGgod43y-Bg I hope it's ok to post it. Here's a link to purchase 54" wide wall paper for anyone who's tired of the wall paper sheet rock in their home. They have residential and commercial which looks very much like what you'll find in the newer m...

Painting ceilings
I've primed all the ceilings with white Klitz general purpose primer and they look good so do I really need to paint them again with regular ceiling paint or can I leave them as is?

RE: Water in duct work
It's a SW is in the northern mountains of Va.
I don't know how long the water has been standing in the duck work but the shop vac was full of water when I cleaned the vents out yesterday.
It's strange that much water could get in the heat ducts but not drain out.

Water in duct work
My fixer upper MH has gotten water in the duct work in the master bedroom and I don't know where it came from. The home has been vacant since Oct 08; water was shut off at that time. The water tank is in a closet space next to the master bedroom and the home wasn't winterized but could the water fro...

RE: Mobile home skirting
Yes, we are checking and repairing the rest of the band board and the floor joists...not just caulking the nail holes. Most of the floor rotted out in the laundry room and we found the rotted band board when we took up the floor to replace it. The kitchen has some rotten and weak spots that we have ...

RE: Mobile home skirting
Thanks for your replies. The only reason the underpinning was up so high was because the home owner installed it himself and maybe he didn't know what he was doing. Is this the reason the band board rotted? I have seen a few other homes in the park that are underpinned the same way. JD, thanks for p...

Mobile home skirting
Hi. I'm now the owner of a 1997 Clayton repo mobile home with some issues unknown before purchasing. The home I bought had the underpinning strip nailed about 5 or 6 inches up on the vertical siding. Over the years, I think this is the reason the band board rotted out in so many places from the wate...
