Are real gutters possible? Water runs down the sides

It has been raining for days here in the mid Atlantic region. All the rain has showed me a lot of spots that are leaking on/in my walls. It seems that the rain running down the sides of the trailer is coming in where the screws hold the siding on to name a few. Can I hang real gutters on this thing?...

Re: I want to drop all three axles and get rid of them.

Any ideas on how to get the axles down safely? They are at least 6 foot up in the air. Sure doesn't look like fun but they need to go.

I want to drop all three axles and get rid of them.

Guys I am going to have all kinds of problem putting my belly liner back with those three axles in the way under my 14x70. 1) Can I get rid of them with no repercussions? 2) The home will never move again. 3) If I did need to move it we would tear it to the ground and throw it away. Also the tongue ...

Re: New Duct Work - Wall Stack 12in" x 3.5in" x 5ft' ???

I uploaded a duct sizing chart to my website. http://www.mrrepairs.net/mh/ductwork/ I would need to know how many cfm my furnace blower pumps out from the label on it. Then its just a matter sizing the the duct to it. Based on what I have read there are other factors like friction and such but in a ...

Re: New Duct Work - Wall Stack 12in" x 3.5in" x 5ft' ???

Hey Ron I made a mistake above in the sizes of the duct work. I hope the correct size for mine this time would be 12x6 or 14x4 w/h... That's as close as I will get & think either would work well. I will get better pictures of it this weekend when I go down to finish the clean up of all the joist...

Re: New Duct Work - Wall Stack 12in" x 3.5in" x 5ft' ???

I just realized why they put such thin ductwork in mobile homes. It's so the heat can transfer better to the plumbing. You know to keep the plumbing from freezing up. It goes to stand that with thicker & better ductwork that the heat inside wont transfer as much outside of the duct and inside th...

Re: New Duct Work - Wall Stack 12in" x 3.5in" x 5ft' ???

Hey Dale, Thanks for the reply. I had a chance last weekend to cut a piece of the old duct work out. I then put a ruler on it and took some pictures. I didn't do a great job either so I will need to get more pictures of this crap. Anyway here is what I have... http://www.mrrepairs.net/mh/ductwork/ I...

New Duct Work - Wall Stack 12in" x 3.5in" x 5ft' ???

I have used wall stack in the past on another mobile home. It turned out really nice as a replacement for the main trunk line. So here I go again and I wanted to shoot this past you guys before I spend the money on it this weekend. My intentions again are the same but on a bigger scale. This time ar...

Re: What happened to Zurn Pex @ Lowes?

Yea its a shame what the country is coming too. My only point in the whole matter was my water line being made in china. We have a grand baby that will be living in this mh and I do not want the drinking water contaminated. I do not trust nothing from China health wise. Especially my drinking water....

Re: Screw and Glue Vs The Nail Gun are Both Equal?

I have been using my Pasload nailers for over 8 years now and I can't live without them. I have the older version of the framing nailer you mentioned and I also have an angled finish nailer. Good luck with everything and let us know how you make out. Maybe even some pictures. Ron Yep I pulled the t...

Re: What kind of "Jacks" should I buy for my walls and floor

Let me add the my mobile home is on the side of a hill. The front where the kitchen is almost touches the ground. Then on the other end where the master bedroom is at least 6 foot in the air. I can almost walk underneath it in the back. So I need to account for all that extra space between the groun...

What kind of "Jacks" should I buy for my walls and floors?

Hey guys I am not one to play around with stuff. I really need to know about all the different jacks you pros use to help with all the different repairs. 1) Jacks to properly replace the Floor joists and Rim joists. 2) Jacks to properly jack up the Exterior Walls and hold the Roof in place. 3) Jacks...

Re: Safety & support of a gutted MH. How can I make it safe?

Billy, By looking at your pictures if the slat boards (the ones that are horizontal) are intact I don't really think you will have a problem. If they are mortised in and secure I don't see how the walls could rack. Oh, And by the way. I like you temp bathroom. LOL Ron Yep the exterior walls do have...

Re: Safety & support of a gutted MH. How can I make it safe?

I screwed in some 2x when we did the demo to keep the old place from collapsing. You can see pictures of what I did in "The new place" in the off topic section. Greg Thanks Greg those pictures did help. I can run a few 2x6's just to be sure from the floor to walls. I can't do nothing abou...
