Concrete Countertops
Has anyone tried making concrete countertops? I would really like to try using this product http://concretecountertopsolutions.com/ . I am a little worried about the weight of the countertops. I have done a little research and I found that the concrete is a little lighter than granite. The process l...

Re: Inside window trim/frame
Thanks for the input. We used one sheet of 1/2 in plywood, we fit it last night. Now we are going to go over with a 1/8 inch plywood (almost looks like underlayment). The finish is sanded and smooth, we used a 1 x 8 for the sill. The fit looks nice, I primed the boards last night and will paint them...

Inside window trim/frame
Not sure what you call the inside trim or frame of a window. we are at the stage where we are putting new trim on our windows (interior). The boards that were on the windows were like 2 or 3 1/8 inch panels built up and cut to fit the 1 x 6 window frame. What is a good replacement option for these b...

Re: Moving Refridgerator
Wow that looks like a lot of work. We are thinking we have to replace three full boards and also may have to pull two walls and rebuild them to make everything secure and stable again. Not sure how the floor joist are fending, they feel stable. After pulling open the marriage wall between our dining...

Re: Moving Refridgerator
We are replacing the floor with a 3/4 inch ply all the way through the kitchen and dining and then putting 1/8 overlay in the living area (replaced flooring here a few years back). We need to repair some damaged floor next to the water heater--basically why we decided to reno the kitchen in the firs...

Re: Painting kitchen cabinets?
Not sure if you purchased the paint to redo your cabinets but I used rustoleum cabinet transformations in expresso for my bathroom vanity and it was easy and looks really nice. I have the paper faced vanity. Once I get my bathroom cleaned up I can post a picture. We have so much stuffy stacked every...

Moving Refridgerator
We are gutting our kitchen and putting up new cabinets with an island. I am so excited for the new cabinets. We purchased forevermark rta cabinets, mostly because the customer service was excellent and they had the dark stained cabinets I was looking for. After reading on the forum for a couple of d...

Re: Marriage Wall Question
Actually we live in ND, average snow fall per year is 8-10 ft, we do not get a lot of snow build up. But this is really crazy right, funny thing is we have a 20 ft opening right on the other side of the little kick wall. We are going to reinforce this wall by making our own headers and placing some ...

Hi Everyone I am new to the forum! We live in a 1997 Dutch 26 x 76 (28x80). We ordered the home new. Now we have the renovation bug and we are finally replacing the papered sheetrock (thin) with new 1/2 inch drywall. We already completed the master bedroom and we love the look, waiting to take the c...
