Re: We have a new owner!
Welcome and thank you for continuing this wonderful resource. As a single woman and full time employee I prefer to research my DYI project before delving in. The site has been invaluable in the past and I look forward to it helping me along in the future. I hope my mistakes will help others not foll...

Re: Bathtub install & plumbing
I would, but I'm a bath taker . I'll probably do that with my second bathroom which has a smaller space. What are your thoughts on the concrete bathtub set and the possibility of future floor movement?

Re: Bathtub install & plumbing
Sorry for the delay, end of the school year craziness . I'm still in the midst of researching what I want. I know you recommend a cast-iron but it is so incredibly heavy. I worry as my floor is level currently but I have had to go out and relevel my mobile home a couple times. Looking at acrylic and...

Bathtub install & plumbing
I'm back again, and still working on my master bathroom. My other topic is locked so it looks like I'm going to start a new one. I have since cut the tub out and cut an access hole in my wall into my spare room. It appears that I might be able to get a 5 foot tub in that same spot of the tub I remov...

Re: How to cut a wall and create an access panel for plumpin
Thanks for the encouragement. Interesting about the hardy board. I agree with the settling problem. I plan to level the house before I start...it's already settled some. I will also make sure I keep extra tiles for later.
Thanks so much!

Re: How to cut a wall and create an access panel for plumpin
Update and photos. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the floor under the tub was not rotten as I suspected. The insulation around the drain is moist and I'm leaving the whole open to dry out. I will probably pull out what I can reach and replace with new today. I was also surprised to find ply...

How to cut a wall and create an access panel for plumping
First, I have to thank the fine people who contribute to this board. Ive owned my 1990 double wide for two years and have did several updates excluding the bathroom since having purchased, moved and set it up on my property. Which leads me to my latest project...a cracked and leaky plastic bathtub (...

Re: 1970's MH total demo & overhaul help?
Yes you are correct. I purchased the property and the mobile was a bonus and not really part of the purchase. I wasn't sure if it could be re-done. Again, thanks so much!

Re: 1970's MH total demo & overhaul help?
First and foremost I want to thank the fine folks who responded to my pleas for help. After much consideration I have decided to eliminate the old mobile home and purchase a used newer one for the lot. It appears for just a few thousand more I can have a home that will hopefully not have the long te...

Re: 1970's MH total demo & overhaul help?
I'm uploading photos that show how the trusses and metal roof look from the inside. I'm still unsure how to insulate the ceiling ( I do plan to use the felt idea), but I'm wanting to insulate with roll in insulation and add a plastic barrier I think before sheet rocking. Re-roof is not an option as ...

Re: 1970's MH total demo & overhaul help?
Thanks so much for the advice on the interior roof and truss material. The felt idea is splendid. I have photos, however they are on my phone...not my laptop. I'm still pretty convinced I'm going with a membrane roof that is heat welded. Right now the focus is truss repair (THANKS FOR THE TRUSS PHOT...
