Re: Dead rodent odor
Been there! I couldn't stand the smell anymore and literally ripped the side of the island out and removed the dead mouse. I would think it would take some time to get rid of the smell if you don't remove it. It may sound extreme, but i replaced the side with real wood and it looks wonderful! Hopefu...

Would you?
Looking for advice. We need better skirting....we currently have vinyl and it is need of replacing. Would you use cinder block? We are attached to a breezeway and garage with a storm shelter under the breezeway made from cinderblock. I would like it all to sort of match. Is this a good idea or no? I...

Re: Hurricane window coverings
I know someone who was really tired of replacing their mobile home windows after each hail storm so they made perm shutters they can fold in and out and latch together in the middle during a storm. They simply painted them to match the trim and leave them up all year long. It works very well for the...

I have never used this product. But from reading the label, it is all natural. Honestly, I would use it.

Re: Lawn insect killer concern
The vinegar does affect the grass, didn't kill it, but it did turn it brown somewhat. I didn't do any research on it, but I am sure the internet will have info. I sprayed the drive way with it, and any little grass that was in it did turn brown. It didn't kill weeds either.

Re: Lawn insect killer concern
We had a centipede infestation a few years back. I believe it had to do with the road gravel we were brought. Those lil suckers can move and crawl through anything. I couldn't stand them anymore, so my remedy was......VINEGAR! It smelled pretty pickled outside, but it killed em. Haven't had any since.

Re: Lawn insect killer concern
Here is my input.....I wouldn't do it. I am also on a well, we use it for indoor, outdoor and livestock. Ours is 150' deep. They told me not to use fertilizer or chemicals of any kind. There are plenty of recipes for "homebrewed" insect killer that use common ingredients. Most of them cont...

Re: Sloted furnace door?
My furnace is located in the hallway. We have a steel(?) vented door in front of ours. Our furnace guy said it is fine to have the door (house came with it) and it is fine to change it to a wood one as long as the vents are in place. So I would think it would be just fine. If in doubt call someone w...

Re: Buying a 2003 Palm Harbor....
This is what I am doing with the "cardboard" in my kitchen. My frames and doors are all in good shape so I plan to remove the cardboard sides and replace some with stained to match beadboard and the other with oak plywood. I have done this in the master bath. When I replaced the side in th...

Plumbing for kitchen sink?
I thought I fixed the leak under my kitchen sink, only to find out last night it didn't work. I don't have pics to post, but is there a standard size pipe that is used in our homes? I cannot take the pipe off to measure and I don't guess well. We live in a 2001 Victorian. I am a do it yourself kind ...
