Re: More adventures in MH repairs! Bath fan
Should work just fine until you get the bigger vent line installed, the main thing is to vent the moisture out, which it sounds like youve improved greatly.

Re: More adventures in MH repairs! Bath fan
General armchair guide on fans, if you put a piece of paper or tissue up on the fan cover and it sticks to it while running, the fan moves enough air out to cover the square footage of the bathroom. If not, upgrade to a fan that has more cfm.

Re: Converting a Single Wide Classroom into a Home
Take a drive through local parks that you might want to live in. Ask the park manager or maintenance crew if they know of anyone who is selling, or may be a little behind on their lot rent. Craigslist around here usually has a few homes for sale, too. $10k around here would get you a very nice used ...

Re: Converting a Single Wide Classroom into a Home
One thing to consider is budgeting the classroom/renovation cost compared to a used mobile that needs TLC. "Deals" pop up all the time, so take a good look around.

No door is burglar-proof. The key here is to make it so tough and miserable for a potential "visitor" that they give up and go for an easier "target", with el cheapo or unlocked doors/windows. Beef up the doorjamb on both sides by butting up two 2x4s on each side. Screw the 2x4s ...

Re: outlets connected right to drywall with wings on screws.
Personally, when I find the outlets with the "wings" I replace them. However, if you aren't sure you want to tackle a job like this, Id recommend an electrician to replace with a standard box. Electricity isnt something to tinker with, be very careful if you decide to work on it.

Re: Bathtub Faucet
The "little screws at the bottom" may be the setscrews that stop the fixture covers from rattling/coming loose. Have a look at the wall behind the faucet, you may be able to remove some trim and pull the entire panel out to reach the faucet from behind. I dont think youll be able to get ev...

I agree it should be in conduit. Best to leave anything around the meter to the power company for several reasons. One, its dangerous if you don't know what youre doing. YOU CAN DIE if you touch live wires. Two, the power company doesnt like anyone poking around with their meters. They may suspect e...

Might not be a bad idea to install shutoffs on each line while you have things taken apart.

Re: Weak spots in floor?
If youre on a budget, you can cut out and replace what's damaged. Cut a little bit extra out beyond what's "soft" or water stained to be sure you get to something solid. Use the same thickness of material to patch it in. Be careful not to set your saw too deep when cutting, you might cut a...

Re: How thick should I make the floor?
Im thinking the 5/8" should be fine, the extra plywood might not be necessary to make a stronger floor. Couldn't hurt anything to add extra though.

Re: How thick should I make the floor?
If I read that right, you plan to go with two layers of 1/2" plywood?? It will work but it might just be easier to go with 5/8" or 3/4" in a single layer. Good guide to go by is to use the same thickness as what was taken out.

Re: New MH owner! Got a project here. Pics included.
To me, looks like a steal for $300. Hows the roof?? Any leaks?? Once you get the utilities going and the HVAC/plumbing done, consider checking out the underbelly. I noticed some of the material hanging down in one of your pics. Insulate/tape up holes as necessary, getting cold at night here in India...
