RE: Repairs after moving?

Hi, Just to add a little...make sure the stove and fridge are anchored down. Typically there are metal things in the floors that each unit slides into and secures to. Same with washer and dryer...just for safery sakes, check the water heater as well, due to the age of the home I would assume it has ...

RE: Just dropping by to say HI!!..

Hey Audie, Great hearing from you! Now you know those kittens/cats are not that pesky, they are keeping the nasty mice away. That makes them worth something. What you hunting for up there in PA? I've been to Johnstowns/Brownstown twice this summer. Umm, as far as completing renovations...I am gonna ...

RE: Critters

Hi, All critters require something in their habitat. I suggest you check the runs that the mice are using, I guarantee they have discovered a free food source. Check the backs of your cupboards. I have resorted to putting all boxed and bagged staples in tupperware. I removed the pantry door and just...

RE: Underbelly Work and then some

Hi, You do need to seal up the underbelly. The skirting should have no holes and should have a vents. IF your home has ground underneath that is constantly damp then you should install a moisture barrier. This is nothing more than plastic (6 mil) laid on the ground under the home. All seams should o...

RE: Musty odor in house--Underbelly moist along duct path..

Hi, Just a little something to add to your thoughts and confusion. Typically MH are only plumbed on one side, meaning all baths and kitchen, laundry areas are on one side of the home...BUT, this is not always the case, my sons home is an example of that. One bath is on the other side from everything...

Hi Juice,

RE: Musty odor in house--Underbelly moist along duct path..

Hi, You said it looks like the moisture follows your duct line...with that said I believe I would carefully, neatly cut open an area and see what is going on. Any and all insulation that is damp is rendered useless. This would need to be removed to get air circulating to help prevent any further dam...

RE: $$$ for clunker appliances

Hi,

I have a few friends that work at dealerships..the cars are not being destroyed, although the engines are blown, they do it with some chemical they put in the engine. The rest of the car is salvageable.

RE: Carport Questions

Hi,

Although I agree with the frost heaves the cure is to not attach the carport to the home. Porch's, deck's, steps and carports should always remain free standing from your home. unless as Greg mentioned all of the above are on frost line footers or a complete slab.

RE: Which rain gutter style?

Hi,

I am not familiar with one style that you mention. The ones that require the screen also require alot of maintenance. In my experience debris gets caught on top of the screening. A hard rain can cause the water to back up.
