RE: New Door Problems
That's one of the main reasons we went through the pain of installing a regular house door on the back of the home. Already have one on the front. It cost us about $130.00. dead bolt and knob another $60, we got a good middle of the road set. It was 6 painful hours of remodel, but I'd do it again in...

Hi There! I also have to advise you of the weight issues concerning our homes. Our homes are set up much different from stick builts. Adding any weight to the roof of our homes can cause damage down the road! If you're buying a brand new home, make sure that it won't void the warranty for the roof, ...

Hey Guys, Yeah, that's the one draw back of PHPBB's, is that folks can mess around if they want. I still don't see why anyone would go around posting links on legit boards. Man, I wish I had that kind of time! Mark's correct, most of these folks don't have legitimate email addresses. I do have to ca...

We got the first few snow storms, but the blizzard missed us here. Tahoe and Truckee got hit pretty hard though. Great for the ski resorts and tourism!
Yeah, I'm ready to retire the snow shovel for the year! We've had a mild Winter, but shoveling for a week straight is now fun!

RE: Hanging plants
Hi JD, Well, I could have told you what those plastic pots will do to plants in triple digits LOL! I've got 4 of those hanging planters out on the deck. Now, I still have to water frequently during triple digits, because the water does just run through them fairly quick. Here's a couple of tips. Wat...

Oh My Gosh Sylvia! I feel your pain!!! Now, I'm a huge dog lover here, so don't get me wrong. If Rocky starts barking for over 15 seconds, I'm knowing that something isn't right outside, and I'm right on it. He's a huge German Shepard, when he barks... the whole neighborhood knows it! I'm sorta putt...

RE: possible to put gutters on a manufactured home?
Yep Yanita,
Both home stores do install gutters! I know that very well!
Trust me, if we don't have gutters where the old carport once was, I'm gonna charge it to hubby! He's had 2 years to fix it, hasn't happened yet LOL! He isn't gonna like that bill!

Yep, great debate going here! Here's my advice. Really study your gas, propane, verses natural gas.. and then you're electrical rates. In our case, it was no brainer. Both our natural gas and electric keep going up like gasoline right now! In our area, neither is a cost effective way to go right now...

Yep Robert, golf tees work wonders on those larger holes! I don't play, but my brother does. He knows to bring me all the old ones. They make good little dowels for craft projects also! I've also used toothpicks, and those little bamboo sticks that you get at dollar or craft stores. As long as you c...

Oops, negate that mention for spell check! So Sorry, I had just installed an update to Firefox, and that has a built in spell checker! The queen of typos is now in heaven! But, it does seem that that Mark has the spell check working on the board now! Yep, I only know freezes down to about 4 feet. Ma...

I have to agree with Sylvia and JD. Depending on the age of your home, you'll be very lucky to find matching wall board. Manufacturers change those every two to three years. Most of us have faced that challenge! Look for more posts in the gardening and decorating forum! There are many ways to refini...

We got 'shadowed out' with the last snow storm. WOO HOO! We're at the base of the Sierra Nevada's. This means that sometimes we get dumped on, other times those 12 thousand foot mountains make storms break around us! We're cool here, but praying for others throughout the country that went through th...

RE: How to repair wiring cut off at ceiling
Hello,
Just be very careful! Normally we don't give out much info concerning electrical or gas line work here. It's a matter of life and death sort of thing.
My recommendation is that if you have any questions, you hire a professional to do the job. It's always better safe than sorry!

Hi Guys, Have the same type of lighting in my kitchen. No special clips at all. But, here's what happened to us, we had a faulty range hood. We have a drop down ceiling with florescent lighting. The grease from the kitchen sealed the plastic panels to the frame. Once we purchased the home, we replac...

Hi Randy,
Wow, bubba's never fail to surprise me! Like Bruce and Archie mentioned, I've never seen a glued on shower head! It should be treaded!
If you're new to this home, I'd really be checking other water connections right now! Water is our home's worst enemy!
