I'll show the wife what she can do to ours.
She does the outside and I do the inside.

RE: BAthroom vanity looks better now
The "Rustoleum American Accents Stone Texture" went on well and really sticks over an undercoat of Glidden Gripper BUT, after putting a on number of coats of "Clear Spray" on top I left a rag on top that had Alcohol on it. POOP, it desolved the Clear and when I wiped it off it at...

Krylon Fusion paint for plastic
Just sprayed my white bathroom base cabinet a beautiful Satin Black. The cabinet is that same stuff that they put on white shelving. Thermofoil or melamine or some such. Basically Plastic. This Krylon Fusion Paint is fantastic. 4 coats in about an hour and it will be cured to resist chipping in 7 da...

" Electrical on the other hand is very common sense and easy".
Right. But how about the folks that have non. whole new topic right there.
One good law suit and Mark might end up working for Mc D's.
I agree with the limitations.

Do you have electric heat in the Trane Unit?
That is way more expensive in the winter, but expensive to change over.

Spray Texture, Oil or Water Base
After using both Oil Base and Water Base Spray Texture made by Homax, I found that the Oil Base leaves nicer "Lumps",BUT it is SMELLY, oh wow SMELLY. Be sure you have an exhaust fan running and DO WEAR A MASK. The large 2 filter type might work better then the little Surgical type that com...

RE: Resurfacing a bathroom sink top
I guess it's always possible to pour a layer of clear epoxy a quarter ince thick on top. I saw it done on a coffee table. Thw same thing they use on the Burl wood coffee table tops.
We'll see what happens.

Resurfacing a bathroom sink top
Granite and all the other expensive tops are just that. Too expensive. But I had an idea of using Krylon Stone Spray and then a couple of coats of acrylic clear over the top. The cabinet base is new (from Habitat for the Humanities $30) and a drop-in sink. It's now Formica on the top and front edge....

Some use Construction Adhesive. Be sure that the new top sits level on the base and doesn't wobble BEFORE gluing it down.

RE: How do I shorten my shower head/pipes?
I had the opposite problem in our last home. It was too low and I had to bend over to wet my hair. I bought an extension for the shower arm that swiveled around and I could move it to make it higher. Let me see if I have a picture. Here is a web site with a picture. http://www.plumbersurplus.com/Pro...

I just bought a Dremel Multi-Max at Lowes and it really works well. http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productList&N=4294961544&Ne=4294967294&Ntk=i_products&Ntt=dremel+multi+max $99.00 compared to the more commercial version advertised on the TV for $399.00 and up. I think I will ...

RE: Plywood added to bathroom floor
After kicking this around I think I will just go with some Henry Universal Patch and Skimcoat. This space is barely 70x55 inches and level for the most part. All I need is to fill in some chipped out places where they glued the old sheet vinyl down. I figure why pull the toilet if I don't have to. A...

Plywood added to bathroom floor
To "Smooth" out some rough spots in the bathroom floor I'm adding 1/4" Plywood. The whole space is only 55x70 inches. Peel and Stick will be on top. Toilet question. If I pull out the toilet, cut a round hole in the plywood for the flange there will be 1/4 inch raised around the flang...

RE: connecting old poly to pex
Gato Bite or Shark Bite worked fine for me. I got Poly (gray) stuck in one end of a "Gator Bite Coupling" and PEX stuck in the other end. WOW, no leaks-Love em. Though the Crimp type PEX connection might work better, the Gators are good in the mean time. Around $4 or $5 each. No tools need...
