Goodman PCK 036 A/C -3 ton with heat element. 36000BTU/cooling Temperature of air from floor vent 80deg Temperature at counter height 66deg. Outside temperature 42Deg. Not warming up inside like before. Air has felt warmer in the past from the vents. Are their stages in the electric element that may...

RE: Musty smell

Just an idea, but you might try one of those square box fans. Pull out a section of skirting and place the fan in it turned on high. Try to circulate more air through under the house, if that is actually where the smell is coming from. If water is seeping underneath from too much rain in Texas that ...

RE: Paging Yanita! guess what We started

Looks good. I was wondering how good those
"put em together yourself cabinets" were as far as quality. I missed the counter top show.

Send more pics, please.

RE: Door covers for winter

Send some pictures when you get your camera back. I thought I might get a big sheet of that Blue expanded foam board and make a panel to fit the porch door at one end at night. It is a fully enclosed and insulated porch, but has no heat of it's own. Since there is a door to the house at each end [on...

RE: Rolled-on DRY paint

I would stick to real paint. This looks like wallpaper in solid colors that is applied like rub on decals.

Probably expensive.
Too many ideas on DIY are just to costly.

RE: Strips between panels on walls

They use the strips to cover the joints because it's cheaper and faster then tape and then texturing and also hides any transporting seperating.. If you remove the strips you have to make sure that each panel is firmly fastened to the studs. If they shift after you compound and paint then a crack wi...

RE: Deck Steps

You might try some strip of metal lath. The type they use for stuccoing, tacked to each step. http://mobilehomerepair.com/phpbb/userpix/716_B96875320070720051201_1.jpg http://mobilehomerepair.com/phpbb/userpix/716_B6893320070207075907_1.jpg Lowes, Home Depot or any building supply will have it. RE: washer shakes the house

The house is level, but I'll double check the leg levelers. The wife doesn't usually stop the washer and shift the clothes around if it's shaking though. I saw an ad for some washers where they say that it self levels an unbalanced load. I told her that we could put it out on the lawn, hook up the g...

RE: Giant Water Bugs

I second the "Call a Professional" idea. We have Palmetto bugs in SC, but most we find are dead from lack of water, lying on they're backs with they're little tongues hanging out. Just be thankful you don't live in the jungles where they can get as big as a wiener dog and you can shoot the...

It's a top loader and older.
Who could afford one of those new tall types anyway.

I have some 2inch blue Styrofoam Insulation sheets that I can try.
I forgot all about his book. I'll dig it up and read.
Thanks to you both.

RE: Goodman PCK 036 10 seer, buzzing breaker panel

Well I called the service people to come and do a system check. Since we have only lived here since April. Come to find out that IT IS NOT a heat pump. It just looks like one. It is ONLY an Air Conditioner with an electric heat strip. If it poops out some day then we will get the proper one. Thanks ...

Goodman PCK 036 10 seer, buzzing breaker panel

We have a packed unit described above. Gray and rectangular. The A/C works fine, but the heater is a problem. This morning, 58degrees outside, we turned on the unit for heat and after a while the 2 circuit breakers started to buzz softly, as if they were about to trip. I imagine that the electric he...

RE: Drywall corners

If you decide on the paper face type you might try some 3M spray glue for the vinyl wall covering. sticks good. I like the idea of rounded corners instead of the standard square edges, but it might only work on thicker drywall, like 1/2 or 3/4. Makes a big appearance difference being rounded. Check ...

RE: Lights in Section of MH not working

You said, "I turned the light switch on today and the lights went out".
Sometimes the simplest answer is the right one.
Could it be burned out bulbs? Unlikely but..
