Re: Install HW Baseboard in MH
My aunt had a really nice double wide with baseboard HW heat. I didn't get a chance to examine it too closely, but it came from the factory that way.

Re: Help > Where do I begin???
I had the cracked tubs also. I was able to find a $99 54 inch steel tub for one of them. The other I lucked out when a neighbor replaced his 54 inch plastic tub with a larger unit, so I got his old one for free. It is made better and thicker than the original one was, with a more solid foam support ...

Re: No hot water, frozen water lines
Real common for hot water lines to freeze but still have cold. Mine froze repeatedly, right below the tank. I would bet there is a hole in the belly and/or thin insulation there. I could thaw mine in about 10 minutes using a salamander. What I did to fix mine was to thoroughly wrap the pipes with 6 ...

Re: Help > Where do I begin???
I wonder if the discoloration in the floor is caused by water underneath the vinyl, from the leaks? Is the floor solid, not spongy?

Re: Really need help!
OK, then you have a plumbing leak underneath. The insulation is soaked and will have to be removed, and the source of the leak needs to be located and repaired.

Re: Really need help!
Depending upon the way your vanity is constructed, you may find it easier to remove the toe kick, or even the side of the vanity, than to get the bottom shelf out.

Re: Installing Light Fixtures
If you have cathedral ceilings, there likely is no room to install recessed lighting between the ceiling and roof. The cavity between the ceiling and roof isn't very big, and is usually full of loose insulation. Mine is blown in and packed full. If ceiling lights won't work in your situation, consid...

Re: Water -- Slow-moving!
Yep, had that happen to me with those plastic valves. I was able to unscrew the handle, rotate the valve a little more open, then reinstall the handle in the new position.

Re: Really need help!
If capping the vent as the plumber had you do didn't help, then you can forget about the plastic bag. Is there a bottom shelf in your vanity, a few inches above the floor, or does the floor serve as the bottom shelf? If there is a separate bottom shelf above the floor, you can probably remove the to...

Re: Really need help!
You say you've checked the vent, but try this - temporarily tape a plastic bag over the vent assembly to see if it makes a difference. What type of vanity do you have in the bath? Most have a space between the vanity bottom and the floor that is not accessible without some minor demolition. Possibly...

That looks like what one of our local installers put in Walmart, in some areas. I know the product had a 15 year home warranty, and they gave Walmart a 10 year for the store.

Re: 1994 Commodore hot water
Do you have a low flow (1.5 gal/min) shower head installed? Seems if the water were that hot, you would be mixing a lot of cold with it, so the hot should last longer. I have a 40 gallon tank (gas,) but I can take good long hot showers. Also, as Greg said, make sure you don't have two elements, with...

Re: hot water heater HELP
A mobile home gas water heater is sealed from the air intake, usually under the floor, to the roof vent outside. If your unit has a draft hood on the exhaust vent, it is not mobile home approved, (at least for an interior installation, I have no experience with any installed in an exterior compartme...

Guessing that knurled white ring turns to open the valve? As for the venting, yes, it's normal. that's the factory set up in mine.
