Re: Laminate flooring, orientation, transitions and entrance
My two cents: I think the 45* would look best. You will be staggering the joints in the laminate as you lay it. You don't want any joints to line up, so you can adjust the length of the pieces in the runs that will come to the 45* angle by cutting to length at the other end of the room. You don't wa...

Re: Kitchen sink gurgles
It sounds like there is an issue with the bathroom vent stack. Normally they are not covered, just a straight pipe up through the roof.

I have learned a lot by browsing here. It appears asking questions is limited, I've never tried.

Re: Amana for Mfg Home?
FYI, I had a 90% efficient Miller (Intertherm) 60,000 btu natural gas unit installed fall of 2009, for well less than half of your estimate. I have a separate central air package unit. I am very happy with it. The air temp stays more even, and the gas bill has gone down.

Re: MAJOR tub faucet leak
With any luck you will have an access panel directly behind the faucet, At most, you may have to remove a wall panel in the room behind the faucet. The easiest thing to do would be to replace the whole faucet assembly with a similar mobile home unit. I have a Do It Best hardware here that carries th...

Re: How to tell where drain pipe is frozen?
Just guessing, but maybe the water film left by the damp rag would freeze faster over the frozen part of the pipe. Do you have any dips or low areas in the drain? I have never had a drain freeze myself. When I installed mine, I made sure it had a decent slope, with no dips to collect water. Then I w...

Re: Humidifying a manufactured home
Since I had my 90%+ efficiency furnace installed, I notice that my place is quite dry also. I now have a portable humidifier set up that adds a gallon or so of water a day, and find it to help. I also don't use the bathroom exhaust fans in the winter, because almost as soon as I open the bathroom do...

Re: doublewide countertops
My counter tops are screwed from underneath to the walls, and to the tops of the cabinet faces. I think that you could replace them if you are careful, but when you remove the top, you will see how flimsy the cabinets are. It may turn into a bigger project than you planned on if the cabinets fall ap...

Do you have insulation under your floors? If not, there is a big reason why you are cold. I can't tell from your pictures if you have skirting.

Re: replacement of MH kitchen water line...
I would think the problem would most likely be in either the hot water shutoff valve beneath the sink (if your home is so equipped,) or in the hot water valve in the faucet. It would seem to me that having the pipe itself clog would be a very unusual occurrence.

Re: Natural Gas Hot Water Heater
Be sitting down when you get the price of a new gas MH water heater. The MH heater has a sealed system, with the air intake under the floor, up through the flue going out. A residential heater will draw in room air for combustion, and has an air gap between the flue at the top of the heater and the ...

Re: Missing shingle question
You are actually missing two cap shingles. It looks like they must have been blown off at some time. If it were my place, I would take off all the cap shingles over the marriage line and replace, as those appear to be stapled on, rather than nailed. I would think there should have been a layer of fe...

There should be a crossover duct connecting the two sides together. If you look under the home. you'll probably find it disconnected.

Re: Attic Moisture/Roof vents
I have a peaked roof with shingles on my singlewide. There are vents in the peaks at both ends, and also roof vents. The center portion of the home has a "cathedral' ceiling, there are roof vents in that area as well.
