In the park where we live some folks have these shutters on their windows that were made by either a friend or someone that sells them, I've checked high and low looking for plans or a kit on how to make these but cannot find anything. fixed this also with a top of the line sturdy vent $23.00 from home depot.

I'd like to put a new floor over the concrete/pebblecrete floor on the lanai. Does anyone have a suggestions on how to do this. Would it be ok to use 2x6 or 2x8 across the span. I do not have any solid wall to fasten one end to or secure a header. The room is approx 11 x 21.6.
