The outdoor stat if located in the heat pump will be marked with a temperature setting. Sorry but there is no actual way of knowing the setting of your units thermostst in the outside unit. IF Pilot is remaining lit, Thermocouple is fine. Blower motor coming on verifies main voltage (120vac) and low voltage (24vac). That also verifies the transformer. IF your GV is getting 24-28vac, check burner orifice, burner tube for blockage (spider). If all clear, need to have gas pressure checked...

husbands checking on the vac but yes it did just happen suddenly. It was working fine yesterday and it happened sometime during the night.

Our furnace pilot is on, fan works, thermocouple was replaced at beginning of heating season this year but the furnace won't come on. The thermostat clicks but the furnace doesn't fire. The fan runs when the thermostat is switched to fan only. Any suggestions?

Your furnace could be in the purge mode or you do not have the correct air flow and the unit is going off and on because of a safety control. My furnace seems to work fine except for the fact that the electronic ignitor kicks on and off before and during blower motor is running. I replaced the ignitor and the control module box. Sounds like some of the glunk/junk was left in the heater tank. This in turn attached itself to the wick and now the glunk/junk will not allow the wick to take any more oil up from the tank.

Hi Monty, You would need to test all at time it doesn't work to determine what is not functioning properly. Not sure about Gas Co., wouldn't hurt to call and see. When it malfunctions test for those design values I previously posted. See if GV is getting the 24-28vac. Going to be difficult to pinpoi...
