Hi Fargoman, yes recip saw is good way to remove old wood, but watch out for wiring as saw + wiring = shock of your life as well saw will not like LOL. in so far as cutting down 2x4s would use skill saw or table saw. recip may cut on angle or worse. remember measure twice,cut once. have a great day.

hi, good chance you have a short in the wall(nail) between panel and first plug. you can run a temporary line to check, but this is only temporary. would recommend that you have a electrician come out to inspect as you may have a more serious problem and it could become something that you don't want...

you will usually find trailer info inside either kitchen cupboard or electrical panel cover. however having said that over the years painting of doors may have happened, if that is the case you will have to be very careful in removing the paint. good luck in finding the info.
