Has anyone replaced their flexible cross over duct on a DW with sheet metal ducting and not have to worry about rodents looking for a way in??

Hi,

Yep, recommend it always and have for many years. Will be adding a new article on that in next month or so to our HVAC Articles section.

The second option is to install the two 90* ells and then stretch the flex tight across between them.

Keeping kinks out and off the ground will deter rodents greatly.

Also, keep the skirting sealed tight and underbelly as well.

Take care and best wishes,
Robert

2 - 90* hard metal ells and then hard metal duct across between them.

Wrap in insulation with outer vapor/moisture barrier.

Use sheet metal screws to connect and foil tape over seams.

Take care and best wishes,
Robert
