Intertherm model #687133. The combustion motor kicks on and then the furnace clicks on and off several times before it will kick on. I can see the ignitor start glowing and the it quits. Sometimes it will do this several times before finally lighting. Thanks for any help. :?

Hi,

The furnace has a control board with two diagnostic bulbs, one red and one yellow.

What is status of each, solid, not lit, flashing, etc... ?

If flashing, how many blinks each sequence ?

Thanks,
Robert

Sometimes It flashes sometimes It doesn't. When It does It flashes twice (Open Pressure switch). I replaced the two pieces of tubing awhile back and It seemed to fix It but It still acts up occasionally. It doesn't do this all the time some times It takes right off and works fine. Thank you

Hi,

You have an air pipe coming into the booster motor. It has to be clear and undamaged.

Then the motor/wheel has to be undamaged and running fine.

Then the tubes have to be clear/unclogged, attached tightly with no tears or damage.

Then the pressure switch has to be operable and have 24-28vac coming to it.

On a call for heat from t-stat, booster motor should start immediately.

It will pull air in through air pipe, through wheel and out through tubes and pressure switch.

When a preset water column pressure is reached, the pressure switch contacts close sending the 24-28vac signal on to energize furnace components.

If everything except pressure switch seems/is ok and the pressure switch has 24-28vac input, then the switch is probably going bad.

If you would like ordering info or price quote, let me know.

Thanks,
Robert
