Has anyone ever used a RedyTemp instead of heat tape on their mobile home? Here is the website: http://www.redytemp.com/heat-tape-freez ... -pipes.htm

My daughter is spending her first winter in her new (used) manufactured home. The local repair guy installed new heat tape for $188 in October and now it seems that she is having problems with a water line in her master bathroom. The toilet doesn't have any water flow and the cold water to her sink doesn't work. All the other water faucets in the home seem to be working. Does this sound like a freeze-up?

Should the heat tape be installed on all the plumbing under the home or just the main incoming water line?

Gotta' love these Iowa winters... not!

Heat tape is traditionally used to protect the line from the ground to the underbelly. I would check the underbelly condition, the plumbing in the underbelly is protected by the insulation and warmed by the heat ducts. The other possibility is if she is heating with a heat source other than the furnace. Greg
