Hi,
Looks good, I totally understand all the work involved when painting/cleaning and priming all that miserable paneling! I only have one small section left to do! Uggghhh, am already thinking of changing colors in a few rooms....what am I thinking?

What a transformation That looks so cheerful now, and really sets off your accessories. Big pat on the back
Yanita, I would love to see the things you have done. Got pics? I'm in a slump right now, and need inspiration to get moving again.

I love the new look 100 times more than the paneling,
it's a very refreshing *new* look and cozy paint color.
Has the paint flaked, scratched, or chipped at all since painted ?
I painted paneling once when I was younger - without the KILZ or washing first.. God what a horrible mess that was lol The paint literally slid down the wall and never held. It chipped, peeled, slid, bubbled, and I think once even tried to attack the dog >.<
You did a great job! It looks very beautiful <3

i used a little TSP mixed with white vinegar and i didnt go back and rinse.Cleo wrote:The painted paneling looks great. Did you wash the walls down with water after washing with TSP? Did you sand? Also, did you tint the Kilz the applsauce color? Did you apply one or two coats of paint on top of the Kilz?
Thanks
i sanded only the spots that we had filled in with joint compund, which were the nail holes only. we didnt fill in the grooves.
no, i didnt tint the kilz...
we applied one coat of paint over the kilz.
Fortunately, much of the paneling has already been painted over in our MH.
However....
One bedroom, previously used by the former owner's young daughter, has periwinkle paint on two walls, and a flat pink that looks like calamine lotion on the other two. I like pink and purple as much as anybody, but these colors completely clash and are too dark for such a small room!
When winter's over, we're going to be painting that monstrosity, so it looks more like the picture at the top of this thread!
