Wife's bathroom has no window, so I though one of these would brighten it up during the day.
They say it can be combines with a fan and a light for night time.
Any experience with these? Was it expensive?
Solatube anyone?

I don't think I have ever seen one that opens for venting. A light may be possible, but the tubes that I have seen have a mirror finish the entire length to bring the light down, I don't see how a light could be added with out effecting the amount of light coming down the tube. Greg

On further examination It might not be worth the money and effort, because she is not in the bathroom for very long compared to the expense of the electricity used. Adding another wall light would be cheaper.
There is only one ceiling light and none around the mirror. I'm tearing out the old vanity and mirror, so ripping out some drywall to add some wall lights would be better.
Thanks anyway.

10 years ago when I designed houses for a builder, we used to put in a type that used flexible metalized duct to connect the roof hood to the ceiling fixture. They didn't transfer quite as much light, but they were much more forgiving.
Actually,
