Are you able to check your blower relay to see if it has gone bad? You would need a digital meter.
The relay could have gone bad and the contacts that are supposed to be normally open may be stuck in the closed position. This would cause the motor to be energized in 2 speeds at the same time and would make the motor overheat and cut out due to the thermal overload.
Pins 1 and 3 on the relay are your coil. Pins 5 and 6 are your normally closed pins and probably have a blue wire plugged into pin 6. Pins 2 and 4 are your normally open pins and a black wire should be plugged into pin 4. Blue is for like a medium speed and black is for high speed.

If you find out that it was the relay, your old motor wasn't the issue and didn't need to be replaced so keep it for a backup. Also, did you change the run capacitor when you replaced the motor?
