I am in the process of purchasing a 1996 Goldenwest home with Intertherm electric heat with heat pump. When the inspector opened the service panel the filters (2) were laying directly on each side of the a frame coils. There is no frame or support for the filters. Is this normal or should I have a tech take a look at it. My last experience was with Coleman gas so I am a newbe on electric forced air.
Thanks,

intertherm electric w/a/c coil filter supports
Hi Bill,
Remove them, measure the backside of the upper louvered door panel.
Then call toll free to 1-877-263-7860 and order the size needed hogs hair fibered filter and filter clip to hold it in.
Best to get two and every 30 days change them out. Then you have no down time and 30 days to clean dirty filter.
Clean with hot water and liquid dish soap, rinse well and air dry.
Thanks,
Robert
