Hi I have a Coleman 7900 Series (Model # 7966-856) AC/Heater in my trailer and I am having issues with it. I came across your website from google and it looked like a good place to try.

Ok now to it. The AC unit outside is blowing just and the Coleman unit inside seems to be running like normal as well. The problem is there isn't any air coming out of the floor vents. Air filters are clean, even took the panels off for awhile inside and still nothing. I am clueless on where to start with the troubleshooting cause everything (other then the air coming from the vents) seems to be working fine.

Hi,

IF all seems to be working, but NO air from any registers, I would take a look in the duct for blockage or more likely a hole or separation.

Remove all registers, lay flashlight down in first one, go to next one and look back at light with a mirror.

Keep going one by one, but if no air from any register, look closely at duct under and near furnace.

Can also lay a digi camera down there and snap pics, load on computer and really look at things.

Thanks,
Robert

Thanks I will give that a try. Didn't even think of doing that. The digital camera thing is a pretty cool trick will try it first.

OK took some pictures, want to link them to see if you can give me some suggestions.

First three pictures are of the Coleman's bottom half. Putting in links to image cave cause pics are to big for forums.

1. Bottom Half

2. Inside the Bottom Half 1

The entire inside almost is ice, along with the pipe going into the Coleman. Is that normal. Never looked in it before so unsure, but leaning to not normal.

Ok part two of this reply. Here are the pics I took of the main vents pointing to the Coleman. Still did the flash light thing to the other vents and they all showed thru just fine(thanks for that trick, going to take pictures of them later to see if anything is in them).

Here is the Master bedroom picture point to the Coleman.

Here is the Kitchen pointing to the Coleman. This is also why I thought the ice was bad this vent has water in it.

So any help you can give will be much appreciated, even if that help is this is past a do yourself thing you need to call a repair man.

Hi,

You most likely have a leak and very low if any refrigerant charge left in system. Could also be a very dirty A-Coil or a combo of the two.

Set the thermostat fan switch or if there isn't one, the furnace fan switch to ON (continuous-fan only) and let it run and thaw out the ice.

Put the door panels back on.

Keep close check on duct, especially close to furnace as that much thawing will probably lead to run over into duct.

Try to carefully wet/dry vacuum up water that is there now, do it gently, the duct is thin flimsy aluminum and can/will fall apart and bend/buckle.

Will have to continue this if more water gets in the duct.

Then, when all thawed out inside and out and the refrigerant lines as well, go here:

http://www.mobilehomerepair.com/hvac/articleshvac.html

Look at "cleaning your air conditioner" and "cleaning a furnace blower" .

Clean inside A-Coil, blower motor and wheel and outside condensing unit coils.

Then close everything up, wait for a moderately warm day and run a/c and see if any of it begins to freeze up again.

IF it does, shut it off and call an hvac tech out and find leak, repair, pull vacuum and recharge.

IF any of this seems daunting or not understanding it, please call an hvac tech now.

IF any of the duct water gets through duct (holes and openings are normal with these flimsy ducts) and into underbelly, you'll need to cut an X in underbelly and remove the wet insulation.

Stuff new insulation in there and seal the X cut with belly tape or a small piece of belly and spray on adhesive.

We sell anything you may need to do this.

Thanks,
Robert

Going to try all those things. Thanks again for the help. Will post again if something doesn't look right, but I think pretty much if it not working after that I will just call the tech in to take a look.
