We had our house moved 1 1/2 yrs ago and the cinder blocks are cracking under the pressure of the house. Is this normal ?
How far should they to be spaced apart?
Thanks Todd

No, not normal. When mine was set, the installers did an awful job, with some blocks even laid on their sides. Heard a big SPROONNNGGG one night, that was one block shattering, echoing through the I beam. I ordered more blocks and inserted a pier in between each of theirs. Now I have one every 5-6 feet.

Sounds like the block cracking is not getting support from the blocks to the sides of it. Nowadays, homes come with a pier plan that shows the exact locations for the piers. When a plan is not available or an older home that never had one, piers should be no more than 5' apart.
