Carpet removal

What's the trick to getting the carpet out from under an interior wall? Looks like all interior walls are set in place after flooring, thus no elegant way to get it out when one wants to do new carpeting or other flooring.

Hi & welcome. You are correct, In many cases the floor material is rolled out before walls are in place. The easiest way is to just cut it with a utility knife and leave whatever is under the wall there. You will find they do with vinyl as well as carpet, it saves time when it comes to trimming the edges as well as having seams.
