I have the grey PB pipe. We used PB to PEX adapters and a short section of PEX to repair when that happened to us.

Keep an eye on that push fitting. The interior of PB pipe is bigger than PEX and the push fittings are designed for PEX. It may develop a leak, or potentially could blow off. Sharkbite makes a PB to PEX push fit coupling in half inch and 3/4... You really should get the adapter and then use a short piece of PEX up to the faucet for a sturdy reliable repair. Parts would cost you less than ten bucks at the big orange store...
