Any ideas on the best way to replace this 2x6 below the window? I hope I don't have to remove the kitchen counter top to do this.

The only other way would be from the outside. If you have aluminum siding it may not too bad. Plan on finding the studs rotted also by the looks of the picture. You can cut the bad section out and sister in a new section.

Id also caulk around the window Inside and out to stop any leaks. Helps to keep the rot from happening again.
