Interested in your experience with roof coatings. We will be recovering the roof before the weather turns and want to know how many layers of roof coating need to be scraped off to put on a new coating. If it doesn't matter what product is the best to last the longest? Also, considering cost. Talked to folks who have used EPDM coatings and those who have used Henry's. Some have used Dyco. We are interested in good coverage and long lasting coverage.
BTW, what is that black spotting that is on the roof particularily on the roof edge. Do we clean it as best we can then recoat the surface or do we scrape it out and then recoat? How about the J Chanel does that need to be cleaned as well. Appreciate your comments. Oldtimer

I like to use elastomeric roof coatings, but I think you will need to do a LOT of scraping & cleaning depending on what is on the roof now. I would do some researching on the product before using one.
